I don't believe what mainstream media says anyways, American media always have an agenda towards something lol like Disney

I wonder if this movie brought together any other comic book characters would it get the same reception? I mean are fans going nuts because it's Batman and Superman together for the first time on screen and that's something we all have wanted. Or is the story that good that it would hold up no matter what?

It's simply spectacle, IMO. No competition in the theaters also helps dramatically. Was ultimately a very wise decision by WB to move the release date.

So your saying that if this had been released at the same time as Civil War it would have had a worse reception?

But isn't he considered an "uber fan"?

Don't know, don't care.

I mean, critics don't count apparently, but now fans don't either?

Of course critics and fans don't "count." Why would they? They give a collective backdrop to our opinions, nothing more. Doesn't matter if they're for or against a movie. I mean 92% of critics supposedly liked TFA. That's great. I agree with them. But if for whatever reason they change their minds and all come out and say, "meh, we got caught up in the hype and we say it sucks now" then will I change my mind? Hell no.

Kevin Smith is just some dude. Did he invent the characters? No? James Cameron made The Terminator though. And George Lucas made Star Wars. Does that mean that we need to recognize that Genisys is a straight 10 or that TFA is a lame retro movie? That would be a no. :lol

I don't give a rip what was going on with critics regarding BvS. Did they get paid off? Who cares. Did they have an agenda against Snyder? Who cares. Are they a bunch of mob mentality lemmings? Probably, but who cares. Do I agree with them or the director of Jersey Girl? Nope. And that's all that matters to me.

Why does everyone hate on doomsday? I mean what does a generic troll look like? In all reality, they did the best they could my only gripe is the lack of a *****

Well, not even Kevin Smith liked it, and he's the one who hosted the whole CW special...

Kevin Smith Says Batman V Superman Didn't Really Have A Heart | Comicbook.com

But isn't he considered an "uber fan"? I mean, critics don't count apparently, but now fans don't either? He was hyping this up for a long time IIRC...

yes, if there is someone that would have sucked up to this movie is Kevin Smith.... he was the one that CRIED when he saw Affleck in the Batsuit... Literally cried on set...
I was waiting to see what he said, I was curious about that so thank you for the link.
I Was sure he was going to say it was the best movie ever made or something, I never expected him to not be extremely positive about it. that is a shock to me. He even defended the prequel movies and had nothing but good things to say about Dark Knight rises.
i cant believe he didnt praise this

Thank you for pointing that out. It makes perfect sense that he didn't like BvS then. :lol

I know he is just a guy and his opinion is not really important. But this is a guy that had been hyping the movie for all these years. he is besties with Ben Affleck, he might be a nobody to a lot of people but he IS a famous guy to nerds, some people do like him. he is a "nerd celebrity" that was hyping this movie to no end and that loves everything batman and defended Rises to no end.

So to have someone like that basically back stab ben affleck with his BAT-TRUMP comments is pretty shocking.

He was more critical of Superman....but his "no heart" comment still pretty hard coming from him.

I can't wait for the day when people stop giving a **** what Kevin Smith thinks or says. About anything.

Wasn't he paid by WB for that TV special.

Did he just burn his bridges?!

It's overall reception is mixed to begin with. Imagine if it went up against Civil War and CW ended up being better than TWS. Ultimately, it would hurt both films. But when you have a potentially well written, well edited, critically acclaimed super hero movie as your competition. I don't think WB wanted to take that chance.

the bat trump comment will come back to bite him in the butt, I would not be surprised if he made a twitter apology later or something :lol

Yes he did just do the promo special for them. And yes he probably burned some bridges. If he liked it all these same people would be saying how Smith loved it.
