Took my 8yo son to see BvS
I've read people posting how they took their five-to-ten-year-olds to see this movie and I'm always surprised.
I wouldn't take another person's young kid to see this much less my own.
Way too violent, confusing, and dull IMO.
But hey--kids play GTA at age six and learn to beat up hookers for money so what do I know?
Kinda wondering if maybe people are just jaded, and bent on disliking most anything.
Maybe people are more sophisticated than you give them credit for, and can judge a piece on its creative merits, rather than the fact that it's merely new and shiny?
81% box office drop from previous Friday
Ouch!
Audience confusion and/or disappointment rarely leads to repeat viewings, unfortunately.
This will still move mountains of units on Blu-ray, DVD & 8-track.
DC took the training wheels off a little early, but hopefully they'll figure out how to build some real momentum and start cruising.
Like Marvel, they've got a vast universe, rich characters, and decades of stories to mine.
They're still the freshman on campus--slightly awkward, learning the ropes, and occasionally dry-heaving in the shower at 3AM.
Give 'em time and they'll find their identity.
At least
BvS and
Deadpool have put to rest the lie that superhero flicks are fatigued and played-out at the box office.
So eat a hot bowl of Bilirubin, Spielberg!
