Do you guys in the US dig the red headed chicks then? :naughty

Actually we're really into the chicks from your side of the pond (Emma Watson, Daisy Ridley, Lauren Cohen, Emily Blunt, etc.) at the moment. :lol

Israel has Gadot and Portman, Canada has Lily, a ton of babes from Australia, where are all the hot American chicks??

Eh, I don't think the whole Knight's End/Knightfall thing would work so soon. I'd much rather see them tackle the Owl and Morisson stuff. It'd need to be an R though. Or at least pushing the boundaries of PG-13. It's the only way you can depict them as heinous asthey are. Le Bossu and Professor Pyg NEED the R treatment. Done correctly, this'd be the new Se7en. Imagine Pyg and his Dollotrons in Live Action... It's not like I needed sleep anyway...

How would you feel about Alfonso whatever his name is, if he directed the next batman movie

You sure the guys on here are Daisy fans? Have you read the Tomb Raider thread?! :lol I like her. :D

First off, a 55-70% 2nd weekend drop-off isn't at all unusual. Secondly; that's just Domestic. I think people tend to forget that this film will make 60-70% of its box office overseas.

It is when it has basically zero competition at the box office. The only new release this weekend is "God's Not Dead 2".

It did a monstrous drop in China too (one of the largest, if not THE largest overseas film market), tumbling 85% and moving from number 1 to number 4.

Alfonso Cuaron? I liked Children of Men, but I don't think his style fits Batman. Alejandro Gonzalez Inaritu would make a beautiful film, especially if he were to play with the locations (for example Mayhew's home). Fincher would produce an excellent movie based on the "crazier" stuff (Flamingo, Pyg, Le Bossu, Zur-Enn-Arrh). I'd certainly love an Affleck/Fincher reunion.

Scar looks like, not much to choose from :dunno

Took my 8yo son to see BvS

I've read people posting how they took their five-to-ten-year-olds to see this movie and I'm always surprised.
I wouldn't take another person's young kid to see this much less my own.
Way too violent, confusing, and dull IMO.
But hey--kids play GTA at age six and learn to beat up hookers for money so what do I know? :wink1:

Kinda wondering if maybe people are just jaded, and bent on disliking most anything.

Maybe people are more sophisticated than you give them credit for, and can judge a piece on its creative merits, rather than the fact that it's merely new and shiny?

81% box office drop from previous Friday

Ouch!
Audience confusion and/or disappointment rarely leads to repeat viewings, unfortunately.

This will still move mountains of units on Blu-ray, DVD & 8-track.

DC took the training wheels off a little early, but hopefully they'll figure out how to build some real momentum and start cruising.
Like Marvel, they've got a vast universe, rich characters, and decades of stories to mine.
They're still the freshman on campus--slightly awkward, learning the ropes, and occasionally dry-heaving in the shower at 3AM.
Give 'em time and they'll find their identity.

At least BvS and Deadpool have put to rest the lie that superhero flicks are fatigued and played-out at the box office.
So eat a hot bowl of Bilirubin, Spielberg!
:pow

I guess you're right about Cuaron..but the Academy and movie goers seem to like him because he's always up there. Call me crazy but if it is Cuaron, I can see Dicaprio pulling off an interesting Riddler. Maybe Cuaron can do Arkham Asylum ..hmmm

Eh, dunno. I've not seen much of his films and only know him by reputation, but I don't think he'd be able to portray the insanity of Grant's Arkham Asylum. Thing is, for these stories to work, you need an R, and we all know there's no chance in hell they're gonna go an R Batman film. Then again, Deadpool did reach 850M, so who knows? But that was more of a comedy. If you go R with Batman, it's gonna be a gorefest, and I don't see many kids being able to handle that.

I wonder if Suicide Squad will be a hit with every genre that goes to the movies, but then again I was surprised GOTG was such a hit

I doubt they will kill Joker. I hope the Batman solo film will be The Killing Joke and a prequel to Suicide Squad.

If not, I would love to see other villains who haven't been done recently, including Riddler, Ivy and Freeze.
I belive it's A death in the family and the red hood story line based on the the forshadow they gave us with Robin suit in the glass case. I think that movie would be a better version then the winter solider which written around the same time only DC could get really dark were marvel could only scratch at that. As this character will not be some brainwashed killing machine with lines but basically a batman turned evil. That my one complaint against batman in BVS is that he was quick to kill because that was a major difference between him and Jason . Were Jason Todd was crossing the line and Bruce did not.

Basically I was wanting a Red Hood animation brought to live screen.

A Death In the Family movie wouldn't work because Robin hasn't been introduced enough in films as a core character that had huge development and no Chris odonnel's Robin doesn't count.

An Arkham or TDKRS or Killing Joke would be a better choice
