You would seem to relish that now.

not relish but im really tired of people bringing up the being number 1 in america like if that means anything when you have no big competition at all from any other movie opening.... thats literally like getting an A in class JUST for showing up... i mean really?

had this come out against any other big blockbuster, it would not have been so lucky, not sure why no one sees that

you all forget the 68% drop was WITHOUT any big competition.

Two theatrical viewings will probably be enough for BvS for me, especially now that I have TFA on blu and will probably never leave the house again. :lol Though if BvS does release the EE in theaters I'll definitely check it out.

I actually revisited MOS on Sunday for the first time in a couple of years. Interestingly, it seems to have improved post-BvS. At least for me. And Superman is not nearly as dour as that film's rep has him (probably because of the tone of BvS). And Cavill seems to have more charisma in MOS. Some of the final battle is still too much, and I still hate the World Engine CG tentacles, but I actually see the movie continuing to improve over time. Maybe it will be the same for BvS as well.

And I had forgotten haw awesome Russell Crowe's Jor-El is.

Another interesting note: MOS begins with Superman's birth and BvS ends with his funeral. For whatever reason I had never made that connection before.

Love MOS. So many wins in that film. Crowe is stellar. Michael Shannon & Antje Traue are fantastic. Mokri's cinematography is gorgeous. Zimmer knocks the score outta the park.

But the best things for me are Snyder's take on Superman and Cavill's wonderful performance. They ****ing nailed it.

Yet another film wrongfully butchered by the critics.

And Black Panther :lol

Well, he was a C-Lister, but currently I'd put him as a B-Lister. The Guardians were always a D-List team though. Hell, when the movie was announced, that particular team had only one vol under their name, and most characters didn't have more than 40 or appearances. To say that Marvel is "playing it safe" is one of the most mind-boggling things I've heard. They're cautious and they play it smart, not "safe". Otherwise, we wouldn't have gotten a TV-Show based on Jessica Jones...

Now that Marvel is involved, he might go to college

True....After 3 or so movies, give or take. In a way, it makes sense. We'll be seeing this Spider-Man for 2 decades or so, and we're going to follow him from his teenage years to his maturity. It is an interesting take, it just needs to be handled with care.

the people that trashed and hated and just completely attacked man of steel before but now love and defend this movie must issue a public apology lol.
it is not fair that mos was endlessly attacked for the exact same things this movie is given a pass for...

you know who you are... apologize please.

Are you going to blow yourself up when Khev and Jye show up to apologize at the hearing? :lol

You say that because you love the movie. MoS got a pass from a lot of critics when it shouldn't have, probably because they were paid off by WB.

i would LOVE to know what are some movies SNIKT1950 has hated in the past. that would be interesting to read.

I don't usually end up hating comic book movies but rather just being disappointed with them.

2015's worst offender for me was ANT-MAN. To know Edgar Wright would have delivered something truly inspired and transcendent yet what we got was mindless generic popcorn chicken for the kids is outright depressing. AOU wasn't as bad but still pretty disappointing in its own right. Coming off great films like TWS & GOTG, 2015 was just a letdown for MCU films.

2014's worst offender was TASM2. I loved the first film. Still can't believe SONY destroyed the sequel. TASM2 could have been the TDK of the Spider-Man movies. Its criminal how they murdered that franchise.

2013 was another bad year for Marvel Studios. IRON MAN 3 was a two hour troll. Joke after joke, bit after bit, generic action sequence after generic action sequence. At one point I wasn't even engaged anymore and got more from watching the people around me - which were like some studio audience laugh track. SUCH a missed opportunity. THOR: TDW was just awful. The whole film I felt bad for Hemsworth. The guy gives it his all even with the crap they give him to work with. Same goes for Hiddleston. Two wasted talents in a bull**** movie.

Other modern CBMs that just disappointed the **** outta me:

-DAREDEVIL (2003)
-CATWOMAN (2004)
-BLADE: TRINITY (2004)
-ELEKTRA (2005)
-FANTASTIC FOUR (2005)
-GHOST RIDER (2007)
-FF: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER (2007)
-THE SPIRIT (2008)
-PUNISHER: WAR ZONE (2008)
-X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE (2009)
-THE LOSERS (2010)
-IRON MAN 2 (2010)
-JONAH HEX (2010)
-GREEN LANTERN (2011)
-GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE (2012)
-KICK *** 2 (2013)
-SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR (2014)

what non comic movies do you really hate? like really really hate? (not related to comic books)

Transformers, Divergent, Maze Runner, Twilight are franchises you couldn’t pay me to go watch - but I understand they're not for me or my demographic (30+ hetero male). My nieces and nephews love those movies.

I also don't like the Fast and The Furious films. Gorgeous women and awesome cars don't excuse terrible acting & ridiculous plots.

so you hate fun? :lol

I think the last fast and furious movie was a much better experience than Batman V Superman, action was awesome, it wasn't too jokey but it wasn't dreadful either, the end was insane good.

I think if you saw the first one you might think they are stupid but after the 4th one they got really good. and more serious and now they are just spy movies basically.

The last two are the best ones.

Not sure what this "means" exactly.
But surely not good, very bad for cinema in general.

Not sure how a DC property like Batman or Superman could be considered risky.

What it means is that they're giving more focus to their CBMs and getting away from other things that cost as much. FOX is doing the same thing. By 2017, Disney/Marvel, WB & FOX will each begin releasing three CBMs per year.

What's for certain is that WB doesn't see BvS as a failure at all. The film won't make a billion but $800 - $900 million is impressive still, specially with the atrocious reviews.
