i was simply responding to your "we didn't seem he do alot of heroic deeds..." comment...

Well, IMO at least, we didn't. Yeah, he saved the space-crew, he saved a little girl and dragged...a ship... And yeah, he did save the world, but at what cost? I'm not saying he didn't do anything at all and he was a poor excuse for a hero, but it's not like he completely changed the earth for the better through his deeds. It's just that I'd have rathered his death heppened later down the line. Again, I get the reasoning, but it didn't really work for me. I'm not knocking down anyone who liked the direction, it just wasn't exactly my cup of tea.

After Superman's funeral at the end, it cuts to Metropolis with the people at a candle lit vigil around the new Superman monument that says "if you build it, they will come" or whatever the **** that said.
So that's how they're gonna bring him back from the dead. . .

Still hard to figure out who made the statue of him. Government officials fearful of retribution? Clearly, the public had, at best, a mixed opinion toward the guy. Nothing was done to establish how the public felt one way or the other that I recall, apart from the protests at Congress and Lt. Dan spray painting the statue. Khev, please explain/defend.

They showed some people asking for his help or worshiping him, but like several ideas in the film, it wasn't well developed. Just like when they asked, "Does the world need a Superman?" Interesting question, but they didn't go beyond asking that question. :dunno

This ain't TFA man. :lol

Since you asked though:

1. Lex funded the sculpture to infuriate Bruce/Hopeman's naysayers

2. It was originally going to depict him holding a human head before the project was prematurely cancelled.

It seems like the nut jobs and religious zealots were the only ones who wanted him around though, and would that be enough to get the government to fund a statue to the guy?

Wait. . .I realized I live in the deep south, where religious zealots essentially dictate all public decision-making. . .never mind. Makes perfect sense actually.

Thanks. I like number 1 the most, because it's a catch-all explanation to anything in the film that doesn't make sense :D

Glad to know I can call you out for any TFA issues though, and like Batman responding to the bat-symbol, here will come Khev to its rescue!

People say that superman is responsible for Zod coming to earth in Man of steel, but Superman wasn’t the first kryptonian on earth in this universe. He only accelerated the process of Zod coming to earth by finding the ship before the government did. The government was investigating (and digging) at the crash site of the kryptonian scout ship long before Clark even showed up. It’s pretty reasonable to assume that at some point our government or Lex Luther would have gotten to the scout ship and triggered the same signal that Kal did. In fact, had that ship not been there Zod never would have came to earth to begin with. It was not Kal’s ship that brought them to earth.

What’s ironic is that in Superman 2 (which a lot of people love) superman was directly responsible for Zod, Ursa, and Non coming to earth because he threw the missile that unleashed them from the phantom zone. He also decided to forsake his calling to protect the human race to selfishly satisfy his own desires to **** Lois lane and be human. In doing so he allowed the kryptonians to wreak havoc on earth, killing countless number of innocents off-screen because the special effects weren't good enough at the time to show the true destruction.. Instead we got the planet Houston and white house scene to illustrate what happened.

Me: "You'll never know what it's like to be a man-child!"

"The...VVitch..."

Me: "What? What did you say?? Why'd you say that name!?"

"It's his favorite movie!"

Me: "...okay fine...if you think Leia should have hugged Chewie so be it..." *lowers spear*

Or
1. Dr. Evil funded the sculpture to infuriate the public

2. It was originally going to depict Superman servicing Mini Me with one hand and Dr. Evil with the other.

SW:TFA was more fun, imo. Also, Poe and Finn are likable....but little miss perfect ruins almost every scene she's in. BVS has Batman and a cool WW, but Crylo Kent is annoying, so I feel that BVS=SW:TFA. Both films have stupid moments and characters I don't like, so it's a draw. :D

My problem with star wars...its so made for kids....Poe and Finn are 40 yr old virgins and act like they came outta high school...best part was Snoke and the Ren Solo meet...I like some dark elements in films...real drama......not just the Jets vs Sharks...hate the fact no one curses LOL...maybe its my age...man I wish Fincher or Villenvue made a Star Wars film..LOL...heres hoping next film will be dark...Like ESB
