I would, as well, and I wasn't the biggest fan of the first one.
That would've been closer to The Dark Knight Returns.I bet had the movie been named SvB you would've loved it.
It's so funny that we see eye to eye on this and yet we differ on BvS and Force Awakens, but not by alot.Vision's poignant scene with sad Ultron in AOU certainly elevated the movie above Avengers in an intellectual way but Hulk smashing Loki brought the house down plus seeing them assemble gave my goosebumps as did the IM v Thor and Hulk v Thor battles.
So Avengers wins.

See, I think someone/something from Apokolips got to Lex. It's not enough to just have Supes kill Zod. It's not enough that Lex then created Doomsday from Zod's corpse. There was a purpose to all of it that ties back to Mother Box, Darkseid, and Apokolips. There has to be something/someone else behind the scenes here. Lex was prodded into his actions and I don't think Supes or the Kryptonian ship is where this ends. I think Lex was influenced by someone from Apokolips.
Just saw this over the weekend. One of my buddies who's a huge Superman fan, didn't care for it. The very mature tone of it was what surprised me, I mean, I'm not a prude by any means, but in a superhero flick for Lois Lane to be naked in the tub, and Clark to jump in with her and start making out. . . I mean, in the grand scheme of things, this is a family movie, or at least it should be. My buddy's got 4 young kids, and he can't take them to see that. That's $60 in tickets that aren't being sold, multiply that by all the other parents telling each other not to bring their kids. . . and with Superman getting stabbed in the chest, no wonder it's getting poor word of mouth.
I don't mind mature, adult films, but looking at it from the perspective of the "average" movie-goer, I can totally understand why it's not doing well. I went in with super low expectations, and I didn't think it sucked.
On top of that the film is literally dark. I thought the same thing about Man of Steel, the muted colors, it's just not visually interesting. . . I just don't care for Snyder's style.
I am optimistic for Affleck's Batman, and hopefully some other directors can get a crack at the DC film universe. I don't think Snyder is doing it any favors.
Yes that would have been...awful?
I can't argue with anything you said, but I'm still sticking with my statement.
Yeah, I'd heard of this before but just never got around to picking it up. I'll put it on the list of potential birthday presents.Full disclosure: I wasn't looking for an argument, and I respect your opinion.
You might want to read "Whatever Happened To The Man Of Tomorrow?" though.
It's a ripping yarn.
Although . . . as others have noted . . . the haze of nostalgia does make everything go down smoother.
