IM3 was just good timing.

I think people are just looking for excuses or trying to understand what on earth it was that caused a film featuring the two most iconic comic book characters of all time to fail.

I think marvel hit it gold with Avengers Assembled, and like a tsunami Marvel just kept the momentum going into iron man 3, fans still buzzing from Avengers Assembled, think they were ready for more. It could have been momentum, because lets face it iron man 3 was not exactly movies that will be remembered forever. But its still pretty amazing how financially successful iron man 3 was, despite fans anger with certain issues with the movie, which can be argued can get some fans just has worked up as BVS. The Mandarin twist is a pretty big deal in terms of the direction marvel did with the character and allot of people hated what they done, yet it still was successful

BvS, the most unnecessarily over analyzed financially successful critically panned divisive movie in the history of cinema.

And we thought TDKR was over analyzed, BVS was still bad. I think because its now using Marvel's same formula, and how big of a deal Batman and Superman are has characters, when they are put in the same movie, first time ever Batman and superman are put on the bigscreen fighting and it fails badly has a film, I can see why its over analyzed

Except it's not the Marvel formula. At all.

Anyway, here is another reason why RT can go pound sand:

:lol

I was super excited to pick up the "Bat Creature" figure on my lunch today, one of my favorite moments in the movie. :) I went into the Mattel figure thread and it's all "boo! Bat Creature!" :lol

I'm so out of touch with this audience. :lol

:lol

Critics have a hard on for Star Wars and Indiana Jones because of nostalgia. Looks at TFA and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. One is overrated as hell and the other one sucks, but it got pretty good reviews.

Looks like its gonna hit $900 Million. Considering the [ridiculous] negative reviews if this isn't considered a success, I don't know what is.

It did well overseas. I doubt many of the countries overseas cared about the negative reviews. Probably just wanted to see a movie that had Batman and Superman in it.

And yes, the movie is a financial success. Congrats to them for making a mess of a movie and profiting from it.

How is it daring? There is nothing in BVS that has not been seen before in other comic book films. It turned off allot of people because of its glaring issues, lex makes no sense and is rammed down our throats justin hammer style, Batman is so out of character, superman does very little, lois is an idiot in this film, shoving in sequel films and dream sequence after dream sequence, and how Batman and Superman fight is not even about the so called questions they bring up in the film, and that fight along with doomsday feels like it was put in the last minute.

[/B]

This is why BVS fails on all levels, before the fight and doomsday, its too busy setting up sequel after sequel, its beyond bad. Now When we look at Civil War and BVS, CW just schools BVS on these issues on every level. Civil War was far superior because the way the villain is written drives the plot forward, because of the villain it makes the transition of introducing new hero's allot more smoother. This is what DC are trying to do against Marvel, its like they are march to the gates of mordor with just Gandulf, legolos and Gimli, no you need an army. Going into CW marvel has in iron man and captain america nearly a decade of his character development, DC has nothing, without development it does not work, and BVS just did not work because they pushed the fast forward button. WB just cannot get it through their skulls, they cannot make a gigantic justice league style film in its second outing, it just does not work. If they did just stick to the title Batman V Superman they may have got away with it, and hey it may have worked. Imagine if all they done for a sequel reference was a batman begins sequel style but keeping it just batman and superman, the film may have been allot more smoother

We can go through both Civil War and BVS in terms of the issues both films use, and it is pretty embarrassing how Civil War just dissects BVS like a fly on every issue both films use. The sad thing is? one knows what they are doing, the other is pushing the panic button, because its distracted trying to catch up, instead of just making the damn film when they don't need to. This is happening a few times, some studios should concentrate on the film they are making then look to expand your universe, by telling us in the film WE ARE MAKING 10 SEQUELS

Thing is that the 10years character devellopment in Marvel is really amount to nothing.
They havent much changed since their first outing. Oh yes tony has panic attacks.
As i said civil is fun well paced but i found it way more boring and uninteresting than BVS.
The 1h30 leading to the airport was useless has everything was said in the first meeting with William hurt.
Pure filling afterward, with cool scenes but thats all it is to me, flash.
As flawed, rushed the first hour of BVS was, i was engaged.
Visually, thematically its more my kind of stuff than any Marvel.

Still discussing the box office?
The movie made money. Period.
But seriously why should we care.

Am i the only one who doesn't like the fact that Superman doesn't make an appearance in Suicide Squad?... I get why Batman is showing up but Superman should at least pop in for a quick cameo. I'm more interested in Snyders Superman than i am his Batman. It really is a shame that WB is shoe horning Batman in their upcoming DC titles rather than Cavills Superman.

Is Superman alive or dead in SS?

I for one am super excited for the next nail biting moment of Black Widow, Hawkeye and Fury getting shot by assault and high powered sniper rifles then by the end of the movie they're doing back flips.

Superman is alive for at least part of Suicide Squad. They're talking about him in the trailer and some of the film is set before BvS.

Black Widow is too hot to die, Hawkeye is too "Cant do Bourne movies cause Matt Damon is back" to die, and Nick Fury is too Samuel L Jackson to die.

Well watching him on interviews you can tell he cannot explain his own movie he just rambles on about stuff, he comes cross has a guy who still figuring out how he got this far. Just listening to him how BVS was made, just show you why the film was horrible

This is an interesting video of BVS, and the dark knight trilogy, but its hard to take nolan serious these days when he hired snyder in the first place

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FKX1Jm-NNc

After that interview where he mocks the idea of a cap america movie and said batman would get raped on his movie if he made batman begins i dawned on me that he really was the wrong person to have handled these movies only because his strengths are with much darker material
Snyder really belongs in the universe of Sin City or the punisher for example. Snyder on superman was like having Quentin Tarantino do a barney the dinosaur movie :lol

just like nolan would have been the wrong person to have made these movies as well. I find it funny that the people involved (including goyer) are totally not the right people for it. I mean, nolan's BvS would just be just as wrong

Snyder says he made BvS for the fans but what fans are those? Cant be the superman fans.
Cant be the lex luthor fans. Those are the most pissed off
Cant be the dark knight returns fans because the movie is just way too different,

I think what he meant was that this movie was made for the zack snyder fans. And that's ok. That's all right too. Just dont try to convince everyone that the movie does superman or lex justice.

Probably because after BvS nobody really likes Snyder's Superman. They turned him into a unsure, mistake prone mess.
