Nostalgia is a powerful drug, but let's face it: The unrestored classics don't sit well with the modern versions. You might not care about the PT but they have to stand with the NT as well.

Agreed. A true restoration (cleaning up the negatives, elements and doing a proper color-timing) would be enough for the OT. No new digital FX nonsense is necessary.

That's why I liked the "remastered" VHS set I had back in the 90's because that's pretty much what they were.

Now, why did I leave this here? Because it's a prime example of how you should built hype for your movie. He doesn't throw anyone under the buys, he doesn't make snide remarks, he's acknowledging the success of Marvel and declares that the whole team is going to do their very best. I'm not a big Shazam fan (I prefer Black Adam), but this thing right there made me excited for it. Sure, the film might end up being bogus because of such and such and such, but, as it stands, I've gotten a good vibe from it. Yes, it's just an interview from the producer, but it's an uplifting one.
I might be beating a dead horse, but *********, how can pretty much everyone, from any camp, be able to play nice except from damn Snyder? Cavill is a good sport, Affleck's a good sport, everyone apart from him is a good sport. Momoa and the Rock get carried away sometimes, but that's more for the publicity. But Snyder? Oh no, The Cinema God's Son is too great for such petty things such as "respect"... He's got the keys to the kingdom, and he's the most condescending ******* I've ever seen speak in an interview. Dunno why, but it just gets under my skin that this guy is in charge of the DCU...

Nah, Snyder is fine, you took that Antman comment too personal, which wasn't wrong to begin with.
It's not just the Ant-Man comment, it's his attitude. It's his whole "thing". In 2008 he called all comics kiddie stuff, and now he's helming Superman, the very definition of the Boy Scout, and proclaiming his love for him and how they deal with Legends. It's hypocritical. To stay in 2008, he was dissing Marvel for making movies based on their stuff and now they're doing the same thing! On Ant-Man, if he's flavor of the week, then what about Booster Gold and Blue Beetle? Do people really care about there guys? Are they "Legends" as well?
All I'm saying is, why can't he just shut up and make films? Is it so hard? Sure, there are characters who transcend the medium (Batman, Superman, Spider-Man), there are well known (Wolverine, Wonder Woman) and obscure (Ant-Man, Atom, Shazam) characters, I'm not saying otherwise. But it's a huge load of BS to demonize one company for using what they have and trying to make good product, while praising yourself because... reasons.

Eh, poor choice of words, but he ain't exactly a cheerful guy. You can see from other DC associated folks that they're happy about what they're doing and trying to do their best. They hype their movies, which is perfectly normal, not by attacking the competition, but by trying to be better. And here comes Snyder who always, always, has to diss something else to make his product look good. That, in my book at least, makes him a poor spokesperson, and an irritating hypocrite, at least as far as interviews go.
