Nolan too? how

OCD, **** retentive, pretentious.

"This is the biggest one I've done. The biggest one anyone's done since the silent era, in truth." - Nolan on TDKR

You can tell the guy probably has a dresser dedicated to socks and whitey tighties.

wasnt it?in scale?

Yeah, Nolan's movie was one of the biggest, with 11,000 extras, but Ghandi still holds the record for most extras with 300, 000. So it might be the biggest film in the last 25 or 30 years.

Yes Ghandi is the big one but I recommended movies that are a little more entertaining. ;) There are just so many films bigger than TDKR since the silent era that it's pretty shocking he'd say that. Unless he was just talking about Batman films and thought that the first Batman serials were silent.

11,000 for what amounts to be a very anti climatic battle, they don't even show Modine get run over. :lol

No seriously, that "big" battle was a big fat nothing to write home about.

Yo Nolan said since the SILENT ERA tho!

There's always been that air of pretentiousness with the Nolan Batman movies that goes back as far as 2004-2005. Like they were all too self-consciousness about dealing with Batman or embarrassed by the subject material. They always seemed to proclaim it as being something more without really being able to back up as to why.

Anyway, like I said, all the WB Batman directors have been weirdos with their VISIONS. All of them have been pretty eccentric dudes with the **** they say. Look at interviews with Burton for the first two, he's ****ing kooky. Joel Schumacher is a straight up weirdo. Nolan is always stuck up like he's got something up his butt. Zach Snyder is well, Zach Snyder. I think that's one of the reasons all the Batman movies, even the crappy ones, are so memorable and iconic.

I don't think that final battle had 11, 000 extras. I think the 11,000 is the sum of the entire production, including the football stadium and any other scenes involving extras. Still, I'll take the last 30 minutes of TDKR over the CGI crap in AOU and most "big" CGI battles in modern films. :)

especially the ones playing cops...

why they cut that? the pg rating?

Same reason there isn't any blood or any real graphic violence or ****ies or innuendo. The Nolan Batman movies are sterilized.
