but mom would have been more powerful without needing batman to freak out. the love for his mom should have been enough. "save my mom" that could have appealed so much more to Batman's human side.

Doubtful, at least from Superman's point of view. Just moments earlier Lex had claimed that "the mother of a demon is a witch" so I can understand Clark not wanting to play that particular card against ANOTHER guy who also hated his guts.

I would have bought the Martha thing if it was handled better.

Cavill seems like a dope that can't act while he's yelling Martha, the flashback is heavy handed and Lois Lane's sudden appearance right at that moment is lame.

Would have worked better if Batman saw himself in the shoes of his parents murderer or something and realizing he messed up, instead of the flashbacks.

Fair enough but at least those are all valid critiques that express an understanding of the actual scene that took place. I'd probably agree with regard to Cavill but I otherwise liked the "heavy handedness" of the melodrama in that moment. For me it fit.

I do like Batman's expression when Superman says that. Seemed like a genuine reaction that Bruce would have considering he has nightmares every night. Affleck played it almost like Batman couldn't believe it and was having another hallucination.

The green glow on the damaged cowl is also pretty great imagery.

this is true but Superman went to batman with the intention of asking for help. the guy hated his guts but Lex asked him to kill batman and Superman at least tried to reason with him and have a conversation.

So it makes me wonder what would have happened if Batman actually didn't just attack him and stopped and listen to what he had to say.

and it makes me wonder if Superman would have said "look man, Lex Kidnapped my mom"
or he would have said
"Look man, Lex kidnapped Martha"
"Who is ...Martha"
superman:"Just.... Just some lady okay? just some lady he took away just FIND HER please"
Why do you care so much? you could destroy the world, why do you care about this one human...
superman:.............. SAVE MY MOM BRO!!!!!!

I think if they talked before the fight superman would still have to explain who Martha was

That's a great point and I agree. Bruce even stopped and looked around like "Okay is Flash gonna show up again? Para-demons? What the hell is going on here, am I losing it?"

Who knows how it would have played out had they had a prolonged conversation at the beginning. All we know is that when Supes did finally bring her up it was against a man who was about to plunge a kryptonite spear into his heart and end his life.

It's funny because in movies when a character calls their parents by their name, it is usually done to show that the character hates the parents lol (or is very angry at them)
you see this in comedies with edgy teenage characters. And then the parent will get mad and say "Call me MOM/DAD!" and the teenager would be like "Okay Emily" lol

Agreed! Case in point: "Han Solo, I've waited for this day for a long time." :monkey1

But then you'd have no fight.

Bats had no intention of having a conversation. He was only there for one reason.

my point was that the ending of the fight should have ended with saying "SAVE MY MOM" and that would have been just as powerful without needing to connect the names.
Batman's love for his mom should have been enough to make him realize Superman also has a mom he loves.

Then instead of the cape joke when Batman saves her, he could find out what her name is and do that signature Affleck smirk. Then his dialogue with Alfred in the Batwing about "not deserving him" would have even more weight.

Bruce was at a point between reality and madness where he only listened to the messages he received in his dreams. Having Superman basically quote his father temporarily put Bruce into that dreamlike state where he was open to guidance and that's what brought him back to reality. "Save my mom" would have been just another statement that fell on deaf ears.

very good- makes sense.....:yess:

I guess it doesn't matter that Batman murders all those henchman because he's tryimg to steal what they're stealing. So that he can commit more murder with it. And then get back to branding regular criminals again.

He"s JUST like Cap.

:lol

Now now don't pull a kryptonianmutie. :nono

:nono back at you

Yes Khev, that is a fairly accurate account of what happened.
