Ya people think he stopped because their mothers share the name.

I always just assumed it was because of the coincidence of the name Martha that made a very very damaged Batman pause due to coincidence making him relaise that Superman wasn't a monster, but instead had someone he really loved as well, ie just a trigger.

You may not have gotten the answer your wanted, but it's the answer you deserved. :duff

Are you suggesting he's a master baiter?
I believe Prince still holds the tittle. But Khev and crows are the challengers this season.

Khev is very low key and crows baits with the truth most of the time, both are refreshing styles.

im definitely a master baiter :vader

I have no problem with Batman being a ****. To me he's always been a bit "off" as a hero and I think it's cool to see how he behaves when something pushes him completely over the edge. Because even as an "unhinged" anti-hero in BvS he *still* isn't just a straight Punisher. I don't see him seeking out criminals for the sole purpose of executing them. He's stopping/preventing crimes and uses lethal force if necessary. As far as his tactics he really isn't that far removed from Russo Cap in that regard. Yes Cap has a license to kill in the MCU so that makes his actions legal compared to Bruce but still, the actions themselves are pretty much the same.

Cap dragged a helpless HYDRA agent next to his motorcycle during the opening of AOU and then threw the poor guy into a group of his buddies before later throwing his own motorcycle at an entire jeep full of bad guys, killing them all. I don't see how that's any different in end result than Batman towing the car and tossing it into another car. Yes one is a vigilante and technically committing homicides from a legal point of view but Batman is still just a good guy killing bad guys in a movie. If we're going to cry fowl at that then we better cry fowl at all of his traffic violations, property damage, assault and battery, etc., and just end the character completely. Point is, he's always been morally grey and we count him a "hero" as long as his grey tactics are aimed at bad guys.

.

Well AOU sucks also so you might be on to something there :lol

Difference is that Cap was I the heat of battle... He was not out to murder someone... Plus Bats branded people knowing it was a death sentence. It's hard to get into a film where batman is not much of a likable hero. Which is not the best idea because Superman is somewhat unlikable also.

Again the superhero's of this superhero film are the weakest point.

I stand by my statement that the first two hours are decent... I enjoy the verbal banter between Bruce and Kent much more then the physical battle between Bats and Superman, which is just not very good or exciting and again I blame the poor character development and WB instance to cram as much crap into the film as the can.

It's not an awful film. Just a HUGE missed opportunity. As for the Martha stuff that I have read about.... IMO if he opened up with "save my mom... save Martha kent my mother" or something like that it would not seem so corny... Who the hell calls their mother's name like that... Was Bats supposed to know who the hell Martha is? Just a bit silly IMO. Having said that I have no issue with bats coming to his senses at the mention of his mothers name.... I think it very much is in character.

I'm glad Batman killed those henchmen and I hope he kills more in be future.

My Batman isn't a bleeding heart puss. He breaks limbs and throws crates at people's heads. More please.

:lol :lol

I think it's reasonable to believe that Clark would have called her by name to keep her relationship to him a secret. He just wanted her safe, he wasn't trying to manipulate Batman by playing the "mommy" card. It was Lois who went the extra step and spilled the beans.

I dont buy this. What's Martha to Batman... (Besides being his mom)
Lets say Batman's mom is Emily.

And then he hears "Save Martha" its completely meaningless. he could have said "Save Jessica" "Save Andrea" I mean, if the name of his mom was anything else... what would have that mattered to batman.

I think MOM would have been more powerful than Martha. I kinda wish Superman said "save my mom" and instead of batman going WHY YOU SAYDATNAME!!!!
It would have been cool for batman to realize the same thing, this guy is a normal guy with human people he cares about. he could have been like "WHAT DO YOU MEAN MOM?"

I guess it doesn't matter that Batman murders all those henchman because he's tryimg to steal what they're stealing. So that he can commit more murder with it. And then get back to branding regular criminals again.

He"s JUST like Cap.

What's Martha to Batman... (Besides being his mom)

As far as Superman is concerned, absolutely nothing. "Martha" is just an innocent woman in need of help. That's ALL Superman was appealing to. WE know that that ONE name above all others is a huge deal to Bruce Wayne but Superman didn't. Which is what makes it cool. It was blind luck that Clark's mom had the one name that would give Bruce pause. Superman appealed to Batman's decency and protective nature toward innocents, and just happened to hit the jackpot with regard to how he worded it.

Superman was probably all "What do you mean why am I saying that name? Because it IS her name. What difference does it make what name I'm saying the point is she needs rescuing." And then later when he found out it was also Bruce's mom he was all "ohhhh." :lol

but mom would have been more powerful without needing batman to freak out. the love for his mom should have been enough. "save my mom" that could have appealed so much more to Batman's human side. he saw superman as nothing more than a monster.
if he said mom it would have humanize superman without the need for Louis to add more to it.
