Superman's alter-ego is Clark Kent. Kent's a reporter. In the movie you see him investigating The Batman (spurred by anonymous tips from Lex Luthor). During the gala scene Clark hears the entire secret conversation between Bruce and Alfred (through Bruce's earpiece). When Superman confronts Batman during the car chase scene he can SEE that Batman is Bruce Wayne through his mask using his x-ray vision. He even calls Batman "Bruce" in their fight at the end. Everyone in that world knows about Bruce Wayne's history and how his parents were killed.

Superman/Clark Kent investigates Batman, knows Batman is Bruce Wayne, knows Bruce Wayne's parents were killed when he was just a kid

Yet, he shouldn't possibly know or be able to find out that Bruce's mother had the same name as his and he should tell Batman (who doesn't know anything personal about him) to "save my mom" instead of saying "save Martha" which not only makes her human (same thing Clarice and the other FBI cadets point out in Silence of the Lambs when the senator continually says "Catherine" instead of "My daughter") but also makes a connection between him and the guy trying to murder his ass.

:dunno

Wow, kudos to Khev for being the only one in this thread who's grazed why saying "save my mom" would be illogical

Let's not go that far. Superman should've logically said "save my mom", and Batman should have logically still killed him in his murderous dream state.

Nope, ain't nothing logical about Superman saying "save my mom". Nothing at all.

I wish people gave it a thought, Khev already gave you a bigger clue than I ever will, but alas.

You guys notice how Civil War fell off the radar after like two weeks yet people all over the Internet still talk a lot BvS despite Civil War making butt loads more?

Fancy that.

Nope, no son about to die by a meteorite tipped spear says the name of his mom who is about to die at the hands of a bunch of mercenaries. That never happens.

It's alright, I know people really don't see it. Khev got pretty close though, I was just commending him.

Are you talking about what happens after when Bruce goes to metaphorically save his own mother? I get it can't happen if Clark doesn't use the name, but in reality...telling some killer to go save some woman named Martha is sillier than Batman's panda bear suit. :lol

Not much to talk about when everyone agrees that something is great and calls it a day. The "best" movies of any given year (like Ex Machina last year or The Witch this year) often get a "holy crap that was amazing" for a week or two and then people go camp out in the threads with the most controversy since they tend to make for more entertaining reads.

Man, you are good.:lol
Not baiting, if that's what you think, I stopped discussing this movie because people simply do not get it. I know it sounds like a meme or bait, but they really do not get so much from this movie.

No, I'm not talking about that. But no, saying Martha is the only thing he could've said that wasn't dumb.

I liked DiFabio's take on how the name could've been inserted, but it doesn't work for a couple of reasons, it's pretty much what I'm seeing here, all the people who're saying "he should've said this or that" are really missing so much stuff from the scenes they're trying to "fix".

What about The Force Awakens? (I have to carefully type the word "force" now because of Riddick's brainwashing)

Flavor of the week.
MOS and BVS, with all their flaws are above the genre and will stand the test of time.

To me it means First Avenger, that kid from Brooklyn, Mein Red Skull.

I'll probably watch Force Awakens as much as I watched the prequels. Not often.

:lol I was thinking that myself. Guess what? Snyder was right. :lol

But in all honesty, I think it has more to do with what Khev said, everybody agreed it was great and moved on.

Personally I kept thinking about it, and turns it it's got more in common with Age of Ultron than with The Winter Soldier, people **** on BvS' plot points but give a pass to CW's very inferior writing on similar plot points.

this thread just wont die :dunno (i remember irish hoping it got locked months ago :lol )

Great Martha arguments from both sides of the aisle, well...really crows v everyone else. :lol

DiFabio had a great idea with adding the smirk.

khev and devil have offered great explanations.

But honestly I do not look down upon CW, the superhero action alone has taken on a life of its own, definately better than BvS in that respects, those Black Widow fights! :google

But I would have to pick WW saving Batman as one of my favorite action moments of 2016, that and the extended warehouse fight.
