Ok, finally found some time to read your praise post.

Yup, I agree. :lol

:lol

I thought it was cool that Batman outfought Superman and Wonder Woman out-detectived Batman ("you dont know me," "the drive is in your glove box Mr. Wayne.") I felt that it gave the impression that specialties get murky when you're dealing with beings at those power levels.

Also another reason I don't mind a conflicted and upset Superman is because to me Wonder Woman supplanted him as the shining hero of good and positivity in the DC film universe. I don't mind the switcheroo as long as *someone* is upbeat and goes to battle with a twinkle in their eye and smile on their face especially if that same hero is concerned and empathetic at just the right times as well. Clearly that was WW.

An interesting perspective for me is to imagine BvS as a replacement Batman Forever. Imagine if this film came out in 1995 as a soft reboot of both Keaton and Reeve. I think audiences would have gone nuts about it. Everyone was accustomed to Batman killing, audiences would have recalled Zod dying the previous decade and probably would have been okay with them just leading off with his dead body. I also think that after four Reeve films people would have been more open to a dark Superman (it couldn't have been worse than what Burton was cooking up with Nic Cage) AND the "Death of Superman" storyline would have been fresh in everyone's minds and people would have probably been excited to see it on screen. I don't even think anyone would think it was rushed due to again, it probably "feeling" like Superman V even though it technically wasn't. Anyway, a weird digression I know, but I sometimes like to strip films of context and imagine how they'd play reinserted somewhere else.

****, after Superman 4 this would've been hailed a masterpiece! :lol

Don't even need MOS, Superman 1/2 would've been sufficient bringing everyone up to speed, hell Superman 2 ended with Superman fighting Zod and BvS begins with Superman fighting Zod! :lol

Exactly! And it would have fit right in with a year that gave us Se7en, Heat, Braveheart, Twelve Monkeys, etc. And one year after The Crow both Batman and Superman would have seemed pretty damn heroic. :lol

Yep, after Keaton it would have seemed like we just fast forwarded a few years, skipped over Robin completely and were still in a world with no Joker or Penguin. "Freaks dressed like clowns" would have felt like a nod to the audience to think back to Nicholson and DeVito. It obviously wouldn't have been a direct sequel to either either Keaton or Reeve (obviously Nicholson couldn't have killed Robin if he was already dead) but it would have "felt" kind of like one, with them re-establishing the hokey urban duel between Superman and Zod from SMII as this awesome destructive thing.

You could even imagine Lex Jr. sending divers into the ocean to look for Kryptonite because his dad Gene Hackman told him how useful it was. And neglecting to mention Superman's inability to see through lead wouldn't have felt like an oversight if it was a soft reboot that still was still connected in spirit to the Reeve narratives.

And with Keaton and Reeve cast, Reeve would be too busy working on the film to ride that horse and would have avoided being paralyzed!

Make it so Khev!

Well we couldn't have had that awesome workout montage if it was Keaton. :lol I was talking about waving a magic wand and having BvS as is released in 1995. So you'd still have 40+ year old Affleck and so on. BvS with 1990's actors would have been interesting as long as we didn't end up with an Alicia Silverstone Wonder Woman. Maybe Braveheart Sophie Marceau or Goldeneye Famke Janssen.

She kind of looks like she just enjoyed a nice hit to the face from Doomsday:

I love Affleck's training montage, it beats Bales's push ups with a glass of orange juice. :lol

Keaton was too psychotic to work out, he just hung upside literally thinking he was a bat....coo coo...:lol

He was actually in anti-gravity inversion boots. It's one of the best work outs you can do, especially for your back and flexibility. Wayne was working out getting those gains after he banged Vale.

Always bothered me when it first came out when people were so stupid that they misinterpreted it as him sleeping upside down (hurr hurr, like a Bat) instead of the real intent of that scene, not being able to sleep at night because he's usually out on patrol. Since he couldn't book because Vicki was around, he decided to work out.

Yeah I remember being pretty pissed that people saw him dangling like a bat and didn't instantly realize he was wearing anti-gravity inversion boots. My family had like two or three sets of those for crying out loud. ;)

And the Dumbbells on the floor and weight rack off to the side must have been guano and stalagmites.
