I guess because Disney put so much money into the movies the comics have to be colorful advertisements for everything else.

Well Marvel comics went all PC all the time so DC shouldn't have a hard time beating them.

Also they are trying to bury the characters they don't have the rights to like xmen and fantastic four and replace them with mcu characters. Ugh

Another very interesting analysis of the Snyderverse:

Thanks for that.

"Snyder trying to produce something genuinely unique and risky, often at the expense of favorable reception. It is my belief that Wonder Woman finds a good deal of balance between the two, with its rehashed plot presented in a crisp, ceiling breaking, and inspiring package. While the film lover in me continues to prefer Snyder's flat out boldness and lament the absence of something truly unique in the genre"

"Zack Snyder is far from a perfect director, but he is a visionary. More often than not his ambitions may be a lot higher than what eventually he achieves, however his films demand attention for attempting something new rather than a simple placation of the audience and a continuance of the same exact film over and over again, which is a tactic that seems to have taken hold of the box office over the last decade. If Wonder Woman is an indicator, then it is my humble belief that it is chance takers like Snyder who will pave the way for other artists to learn from his mistakes and triumphs and take the superhero film into the next era, one where audiences will be truly dazzled by what awaits them. "

Exactly what I think.
Snyder deserves way more respect than what he got.
Hurray now After a ****** Suicide Squad we get a ****tier Ww.
Freaking great..

I would never call Snyder a visionary filmmaker. But I would agree that he is willing to take risks that others (read: Marvel Studios) would not. The dark approach to DC is evidence of this. On the other hand, many of the things he did in Man of Steel (super powered people knocking down buildings) were direct responses to criticisms of Superman Returns. And the opening to BvS (no one taking care to protect the people on the ground affected by the onslaught of Superman's fight with Zod) was a direct response to some criticisms of Man of Steel. So, even there it seems like he's trying to appease critics as much as take risks himself.

I do think Wonder Woman is the least risky of the DC films (with Suicide Squad, as watered down as it is, in close 2nd place), very much in line with Marvel Studios. But I also think it's by far the best. . .there are often good reasons why directors don't take risks. I would get into the George Lucas example, but I have to leave my office now :lol

Snyder makes more interesting and riskier films- flawed but far more of the type of film I am drawn to...I have no idea what to expect from JL

Watch Whedon beef up WW's role in JL now...:lol

I have the same fear. Although I really enjoyed Wonder Woman, I much prefer the tone of the other DC movies. I'm afraid DC will go the Marvel route, which I would hate

What if WW doesn't get near the box office of BvS and SS? That would decide the way WB takes it.
That's all that matters, though you have to factor in budget and the fact that Wonder Woman (and Suicide Squad) is building off of a relatively new property, while Batman V Superman should be as safe a movie investment as you can have. The success of Suicide Squad is really impressive because almost every character were unknowns to casual audiences going in.

Will not top BvS as far as box office- it really DOES all hinge now on JL. This will be very very interesting...

JL will make money. Hopefully Wonder Woman will erase some of the bad thoughts that BVS left in the minds of many.
