I have the same fear. Although I really enjoyed Wonder Woman, I much prefer the tone of the other DC movies. I'm afraid DC will go the Marvel route, which I would hate

It Will definitly make sense if JLA and co are lighter than MOS or BVS now that the characters embrace their status of superheroes.
But now after WW im just scared they Will keep hiring bland directors. WW had good moments but most of the movie had no personality.
Im scared for JLA , i wanna see another Snyder movie not a whedon. And small changes can really mess up a movie.

It's more the seriousness I liked from BvS and MoS.

WW was very charming however. I do see what you mean, as it was a classic heros tale, which we've seen hundreds of time (it's a classic style)

It's encouraging to see people understanding more and more of what Snyder is building with his DC universe:

So prior to this the thought was that no one was hurt in the Zod battle, that everyone escaped the buildings ok. Now there's this whole idea that Snyder planned it and this is all part of his grand idea for DC? Bull crap!

Huh? That's not true at all.

It was even the main complaint about MoS, where are you getting this idea that the main source for complaints is now the complete opposite?

And in BvS: "Jesus! Alfred, count the dead! Thousands!".

In fact, IIRC, that fire scene was the first thing I pointed out when the trailers came out, even before the memes and infographs started after the movie.

It's not only not bull crap, it's spot on, what's sad that only now some people are catching up, and it's not even the tip of the iceberg, It's ok the be out of the loop, most people here and in the rest of the audience were.

I remember when MOS first came out and people were complaining about the violence Snyder and his fans were saying that the level of destruction was in line with the Superman and Justice league cartoons and no one ever complained then and no one ever got hurt. So now all of a sudden he's trying to dig a deeper meaning behind the leveling of Metropolis. Yeah right!

Cartoons, sure. But since 911 I think people (in the US anyway) look at collapsing buildings differently...especially when its done so realistically.

I used to love watching Godzilla trampling across a city, never gave a moment's thought about the millions of lives in those buildings, just assumed they all got out and were hiding in the subways. But now...

Which one? :lol

Which Godzilla or which Godzilla movie? I'm old-school, I go back to 60's-70's Godzilla in my reference.

That said, the original Godzilla had a completely different meaning to the Japanese -- they got the Hiroshima angle that most everyone else missed.

If anyone is wondering why I'm talking about goofy Godzilla is a very serious Superman thread, you really need to realize they are very similar in their ridiculousness.

Got it! Glad it's not the 98's GINO. :lol

80's and 90's Gojira films were good at showin' evacuation or people in buldings bein' crushed.
Pity that US fans had no oportunity to watch those films...

Batman or Superman being presented in a "Dark" story is not a problem for me, done right, I would quite like it. That wasn't the problem with MOS and BVS

Writing, Directing, and pointless/nonsensical motivations and scenarios were the problem. Hearing (or reading) people say that the movie was "over people's heads" makes me laugh everytime.

You like it? That's fine, just accept you like a bad movie. :lol
