So many people have **** on BvS that people who liked it don't feel comfortable just saying they enjoyed the film. Arguing that the film is "too deep for some people" is just a way for them to feel like they're in a special group that "really gets it". The problem with that is that there is nothing subtle about the film. Snyder is one of the least subtle directors out there. Everything is tossed in your face with blatant imagery--usually several times--just to make sure you don't miss out on any themes in his films.

A sure-fire way of telling someone is talking out of their *** about the "deep meaning" of BvS is when, asked to explain, they reply with "You just don't get it", "if you paid attention while watching the film you would see it", or "What's the point of explaining it to you?" Because to explain the "deeper message" is to open themselves up to the possibility that someone will make a valid argument for why the deeper meaning doesn't mean ****.

People hearing a movie made by the SuckerPunch dudebro went over their heads triggers their ego self-defense mechanisms without fail, yet they never stop showing how out of reach it is for them; this didn't make any sense, that didn't make any sense (for them), so it's bad movie!

This movie really filters out the tasteless plebs.

And the problem is...?

There's nothing wrong with ******** on a poorly done film. My problem is when someone who enjoys it can't just say it was fun or entertaining--regardless of what other people say. All of a sudden it has to be the epitome of intelligent cinema, and if you don't get it then you are not only stupid but don't respect the art of such a great film-maker. :lol

BvS was entertaining and WW's reveal could have been legendary had it not been spoiled by the trailers. Suicide Squad? Yep, that one was fun too.

WW is definitely better than both though.

I do, I rarely ever safeguard my posts about it.

People say this, yet they never touch on anything deeper than the obvious religious imagery, thinking THAT is supposed to be the subtlety. And when a new meme or infograph comes out, explaining stuff nobody saw, they usually go "y-yeah, I totally saw that, so obvious". I called that when the movie came out.

Asking to pay attention is too much nowadays, I agree :lol

I realized it was pointless and it would be a waste to discuss the movie when nobody could figure out why every single "fix" of the Martha scene was illogical, I'm guessing other people who got it reached a similar conclusion.

I don't doubt there are people who pretend to get it though.

That it does.
You're not reversing it the way you think you are :lol

I don't wanna waste my talent on MCU.

Neither does anybody else.

Actually disagree- BvS still is the best and SS was so off the wall cool..WW is truer to a MCU film and that is fine- enjoyed it but not as original or impressive(gotta ask Zack for more free tickets soon...:lol)

I'm not getting into a huge multi-quote ******** thing with you about it even though I know you get off on that. You think it's the bee's knees, and I think it was an incredibly disappointing effort and never the 'twain shall meet.

Oh, make no mistake, I'm not trying to convince anyone, I merely enjoy being a smug ****.

Good post!

Nothing wrong with liking a bad film, if they had fun and it appealed to them in some way, great! But calling people intellectually inferior because they "didn't get it" is such a transparent, neurotic, fragile-ego defense.
