Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I was just reading some Action Comics and remembered Lex Luthor's new armor, it seems to directly borrow from Zod's suit, which is awesome, I hope they do something like that for the JL movie if Luthor ever gets to wear his armor.

Lol.

The reason WW isn't getting a film is exactly that, she's a woman. No WW film, because male status quo. And the CB genre is still heavily aimed at young males. If they make the fan service style WW we see half the time (admit it, she's ridiculously gratuitous and she was designed with that intent from the start, there's a whole intensional lesbian SM emancipating layer to her), the response of film critics etc will be devastating. And if they make her in a serious, non-gratuitous way I'm pretty sure they're afraid it just won't bank enough because it won't appeal to young males enough. Even though I think it could be brilliant if they finally give a woman a real, non-gratuitous, serious film on par with Batman and Superman. I'd love to see a truly woman-empowering film in this genre. Part of the problem is also a lack of female directors, which I think would be good to have, regardless of how sexist that sounds.

Also, I don't see Marvel lining up a female lead CB film so far...? Until then, Marvel fans don't really have much to back their position with. Hollywood is scarred ****less of empowering women all across the board, because they fear it won't bank with their prime target audience: young males. And if they do target that audience, it's mostly just more fan service. I guess Marvel has Black Widow and Sif now, but... I don't see them getting their own film anytime soon.

It's so sad how little is invested in proper female heroes, because Hollywood just doesn't have the guts to run the risk of not fully optimising the young male audience cash.

You mean the non-gratuitous Batman and Superman films where Christian Bale and Henry Cavill run around topless, covered in baby oil?

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Oh I'm sorry, I guess a few scenes showing off a body they worked very hard to build up evens out all female sexual objectification.:lol Also all the scenes they were bare chested in actually had valid story reasons. From the top of my head I can only remember TDK where bruce takes his shirt off so the audience can see he's completely bruised up and Clarke running through a fire which tends to burn your clothes off. Can't remember any other scenes they were bare chested in. Yeah the sex scene in TDKR. Wow big schocker people take their clothes off there.

If they had given Clarke a suit with a revealing chest and legs, then you'd have had a real point.

I'm not saying you can't enjoy the physique of the actors on screen – men or women. It's an aspect that belongs to many of thee characters of course. But come on, men and women are not in the same boat here.

'The WW aimed at men is too sexually laden and the WW aimed at women won't sell' I think that's the view hollywood has. I think it's rubbish, but I think that they think like that and that that is the reason WW doesn't have her own film planned yet. Hollywood doesn't know how to market WW.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I mean, the creepy response to Gal Gadot's casting is kinda proof enough of why Hollywood is scarred of WW. ("HER ****S AREN'T BIG ENOUGH!" people are ****ing shameless.)

Especially in a country that's as prudish as America those are not responses these marketing people want. And we only get what's marketable.

But hey I'm European, what the hell do I know!?:lol

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I wouldn't care if they hire Emma Stone for Wonder Woman.... at least she can ACT!

(Emma stone as wonder woman Would be kind of amazing :lol)

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Except Thor has ignored all those facets. He's not really a god. They have reduced his strength and that of Mjolnir. Disney made Thor an alien, Malekith is an Alien, and magic is just science we don't understand. Making Dr. Strange the Scientist Supreme. And Thor has been second fiddle to Kat Dennings and her wacky humor. I want a Wonder Woman film as much as the next guy, but I hope it is nothing like the Thor films. I hope they actually ground her in Greek Mythology.

:goodpost:

I like the first Thor but it was heavily watered-down from the comic version.

Oddly enough they have the highest output of Pornography :lol

Honestly, for some Hollywood casting, Wonder Woman should've been EASY and they could've marketed the movie DIRECTLY to the male demographic. Tall, big ****s, and hot.

Instead...Hollywood sort of went the opposite with that when they cast Gadot. It was one case where the fanbase actually WANTED Hollywood to cast with their typical stereotype.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I hope this movie does not turn in to a commercial for Justice League it should be its own story and not leave things hanging like Prometheus or what they do now by splitting up the last movie in a series in to 2 parts just to milk it and end up giving us nothing but filler material instead of a complete story.

Really? I thought it was one of those Live Broadcasts of "Inside The Actor's Studio: Paul Giamatti." "AYE YAMMM DE RHYNAW!" That line delivery was absolutely breathtaking.

Except that it would've been destroyed by critics and personally I'd find it bs too. My concern with Gadot is whether she can act and convince me of being a great warrior. The heavily sexualised WW can't be taken seriously by the larger audience.

Swear to god Gimatti was Mr. Freeze 2.0. Honestly I was like really? We're back in the nineties?

Dear god of lightning that film was bizarre to me.

ASM2 went of the tracks right from frame one- unmitigated disaster in my mind...Sony has screwed the goose and it's egg.
I have great hope for Batman/Superman as long as the script is good- I love Snyder's abilities as director.
