Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Eisenberg recently spoke shortly about Lex, having been convinced solely by the script and says he will not look at past performances whatsoever. He's going to approach it as a character like he would any other and claims it's also a character that's very well written and doesn't look like it's from a blockbuster film.

I know the haters are abound even more so for him than Affleck maybe, but I'm very intrigued by his casting, in fact... I'm close to being curious most about it.

Eisenberg definitely did not have to do this gig, at all. And after his Fincher gig you can bet your *** he sees some of the best scripts in town. If he's so convinced by it that boosts my excitement for it.

he just needs to get fat and look more aged. Make up will fix that. he is really really thin.

come to think of it, everyone had to fatten up for this movie :rotfl:rotfl (more like Obese League lol)

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

After seeing what Shannon did with Zod, which I found fantastic, I feel there's no reason for me to have any doubts about DC continuing it's fantastic streak in villain-casting.
Yeah, people can poke holes in MoS all day, some I agree with, some I dont, but a lot of my enjoyment was from Shannon and Traue, definitely up there as some of the best villains to date in my mind.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I'd like that too. Technically, it would be easy. Faora is probably still alive in the Phantom Zone and in the comics, Superman did regenerate from death thanks to the Sun radiation. So provided they go with that theory, exposed to the sun, Zod could regenerate!

... If this was a series, I'm sure they'd consider it, but this being a short run of movies, most probably three, it's just wishful thinking I'm afraid...

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

**** Zod and Faora. I'm glad they're dead.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

At this point Blackest Night is fairly far of a stretch :lol
Well, we don't even know if Faora's dead, and they could very easilly bring back Zod.

In fact, Faora made quite an impact, she's in the comics now too, she just had a full arc in the Superman/Wonder Woman series, and she's a badass, they even kept the armor from the movie.

I don't know man, maybe she can team up with Lex in a future Justice League movie, they didn't really kill Faora in MoS.

I find it funny how people keep calling Shannon's Zod one-note, when if you look at him with attention he's actually displaying some of the best acting nuance in a blockbuster film acting in a long time. He really gave that character depth with a layered performance. And it is layered, pretty mesmerising actually, Shannon is ridiculous good at using subtle facial expression. Found it brilliant how he conveys his struggle between something akin to humanity and his genetically coded duty. Contrary to most villains, Zod actually regrets what he must do, but he feels he must nonetheless, and Shannon nailed that perfectly. And then there's of course just flat-out iconic moments in cinema for me. I've never seen someone pronounce the word 'heresy' as good as he did.:lol

I did really enjoy the entire casts performance, although there wasn't truly room for Lois in this film. But regardless of whether you buy plot points or not, the entire cast was brilliant. Hell even the child actors were great which is rare.

I can't wait to see what Eisenberg will do man, that guy's a subtle actor as well, in the same way as Murphy, Ledger, Hardy and Shannon. Also loved seeing Holly Hunter added to the cast, actually have a hunch she might play Luthor's mother.:lol (She's 25 years older than Eisenberg and she kinda resembles him imo.)

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Ha I thought that too at one point Crows but she's too short. WW should be at least as tall as Gadot is imo.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

you know, that girl that played Faora would have been an amazing wonder woman...
Nah, she's too German.

You've got extremely Jewish Wonder Woman so, for your own sake, don't complain :lol

^Must be hard as a filmgoer, to be that blind.

Or you're seeing things that aren't there.

I thought Shannon was okay (I think he's a great actor and would have been better if he was handed a better script), but as far as Zod is concerned, I don't remember any nuances or subtleties. I remember him constantly being wide eyed and shouting at the top of his lungs. There was nothing "brilliant" about it.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Yeah, the problem with saying someone sees stuff that isn't there is that others shouldn't be seeing it. But they do.

Know lots of people, friends, family, all kinds of ages, people who don't even care for films like this, they all saw and appreciated it.

Sorry buddy, your bias blinds you.

Or those things are there.

The opening scene, the dream scene, when he comes out of the wrecked kryptonian ship.... There's plenty scenes to choose from in which Shannon shows brilliance of performance.
