Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Perhaps the movie will end like DOFP.

Batman and that guy whose movie this was supposed to be could enter a meeting with all of these superheroes and that will be the extent of their roles for this, just a cameo tease.

Aquaman now too? **** this ****. :lol

Well why not at this point, they were piling the rest of them in there anyway. Wouldn't surprise me if at least one of them has to get recast by the time the actual JL film comes around though.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Man of Steel spent two hours "exploring" how mankind would emotionally react to an alien being, hero or not. The unknown, fear of what we don't understand. How threatened we would feel once we finally knew that there are other unknown and possibly advanced species out there.
Well at least that was the intention of Nolan, Goyer and erm.. Snyder.

In the sequel, we have an Amazonian with a magic lasso, a fish man from Atlantis and god knows whatever else, I've lost count.
It's just stupid. Reboot the reboot, just don't pretend it's a sequel to anything. It's just an Avengers pastiche without the groundwork and creative foundations.
:lol

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I know I've *****ed about it before in here, but what would have been so hard about having Batman and Superman as the only comic heroes in this one? That's all you need to tell a good, 2 and a half hour story.

Batman and Superman alone rivals all of the Avengers and X-Men in my opinion. It really feels like they jumped the gun for this Justice League crap. Batman and Superman are big enough and would have laid ground for future prospects. With these other fruitcakes running around, it feels like too much, too soon. Even if it's just pointless cameos, that'll still reek of fan servicing instead of just focusing on the story. The only worlds that should matter are Metropolis and Gotham in my opinion. That is something we've never seen before on the big screen, why not just focus on that instead of blowing your load on the "dawn of the justice leagues".

You've pinpointed the big problem I have with the whole thing.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I was really hoping for a continuation of the story started in MOS....looks like that's been tossed aside for a DC cameo party. Oh well....

Sure I'll get roasted for this, but on the Marvel movie side, I've really preferred the movies that were focused on one character at a time...."The Avengers" was entertaining enough, but I don't find myself watching it multiple times (haven't made it through again since the last time I saw it at the theater). Grouping them all together in one movie weakens the impact of all of them. Now, there can be some character cross-over that works really well....the best example of this was CA:WS...

But....I have to wonder if WB/DC is just wanting to get a quick flash of cash here....not really building a momentum or a library of movies to draw up a bigger story. Hope I'm wrong....I really like MOS....and want to like this too. We'll see....but any more additions and it's going to look like the "Super Friends Variety Hour"....

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

It won't matter in the end what they claim, if half a dozen superhero s suddenly pop up, it will at best feel like a soft reboot basically for every reason Diablo stated. Hmmmm, imagine that, Difabio is auto corrected into diablo. :lol

I agree, as exciting as Avengers was for pulling everyone together, I still grab IM1 (and probably soon Cap2) 9 out of 10 times when I'm feeling the need for some Marvel action.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I don't mind if DC is introducing their characters in group films or team ups... I just hope that they flesh them out in their own films at some point. Just because Marvel started with the solo films and teamed them up doesn't mean that's the only way to go. Their characters were far less mainstream at that point than say Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, so they needed audiences to know who they were.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I fear this movie is shaping up to become the ultimate fan ****.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

For all we know they are not casting people for this movie rather than the JL movie, if anything I think WW, AM, GL and **** will have small cameos, and there's nothing conflicting about that.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

No Martian Manhunter in JL and DS will probably be the villain for JL.

I'm ok with that, save Martian Manhunter for a project Goyer isn't attached to, and you can't go wrong with Darkseid.

I'm confused though, the pic doesn't show Darkseid and does list MMH. :dunno:

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I'm gonna laugh if it turns out they'll all only be on-screen for a few minutes total and everyone will have freaked out think they'll overcrowd the movie :lol

Even a few minutes total is too much.

If they're only bit parts for lame seconds long cameos, why bother announcing these actors in the roles? It was never reported that "James Marsden will RETURN for next X-Men film!" for DOFP. People didn't know about him till they saw the film and Cyclops was simply a nice surprise. This all smells like fan service to me. Jumping the gun for a Justice League movie before you can even prove you can make a Justice League movie (*cough* Sinister Six, Venom, Spider-Man Universe *cough*).

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

As far as I'm concerned they haven't announced anything other than Gadot.

It's dbag pissed off ex employees who are ruining the surprises for all of us.

And small cameos wouldn't be too much.

Marsden was already cyclops it would've made no sense announcing him, had it being a new actor playing cyclops and the medium was so info hungry for DOFP as it is for this movie, we would have found out.

But they did market the hell out of Halle Berry, and Anna Paquin, with only Halle having one or two lines.

Just because it's "reported," that doesn't make it true.

Like Gaspar said, the only other member of the JL in Batman v. Superman, that we legitimately know is in it, is Wonder Woman.
