Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Aquaman's in this thing too? WoW Snyder is putting everyone in this movie. I hope it comes out great. I hope he has one heck of a writer who knows the characters well to incorporate all those different personalities accurately. To me this seems like one of those ensemble movies like Cannonball Run or It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad world. Everyone is popping up.

Christ alive; I'm fighting, and losing, an uphill battle.:lol

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Snyder is at the table with Warner Brothers bottomless chips tray in one hand and a pair of pocket aces superheroes in the other and just said **** it, all in.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Just because it's "reported," that doesn't make it true.

It most likely will be though. Though, I'm of the mind that the guy will be a different, minor character completely.

I remember back in 2006/2007 during The Dark Knight, there would be similar reports of casting calls going down for a "chinese businessman", "gotham crimelord" etc. etc. We had no context and many people thought these reports were just "journalists" blowing smoke under the fan community's ***. Well, a little later, there was confirmation that Chin Han was cast as the "chinese businessman" and Eric Roberts as "Sal Maroni" and things began to solidify. On occasion, you'd have these weird headlines that claimed that Anthony Michael Hall was the Riddler or that Sarah Jayne Dunn was Harley Quinn, but those were swept aside pretty quickly.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

All these new characters most likely have small roles in this movie- just setting them up for Justice League a year later- seems to me these will be filmed back-to-back so Snyder is just getting the line up ready.

I wish it was The Super Friends

No Martian Manhunter in JL and DS will probably be the villain for JL.

I'm ok with that, save Martian Manhunter for a project Goyer isn't attached to, and you can't go wrong with Darkseid.

I'm confused though, the pic doesn't show Darkseid and does list MMH. :dunno:

Goyer writes Justice League, I'm calling it now, Manhunter dead to a tornado within 30 minutes of the movie starting. :lol

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Doing Darkseid in the first JL movie would feel like they were totally blowing their load prematurely. In fact, that's how the nu-52 animated movie felt for me. If true, then it's one more bit of evidence that they aren't gonna let this franchise develop naturally and methodically, but just throw as much **** at the fans as possible as early on, and hope it is enough to get folks interested enough to stick around for whatever follows. You don't easily follow up Darkseid. There's really no more serious threat in the DC Universe short of a Crisis on Infinite Earths deal. ****'s sake. I am not one who thinks the Marvel way is the only way, but it is totally the right move to build up lots and lots of movies before bringing in something like Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet.

There are many equals or greater threats to Darkseid, like Lex Luthor teaming up with other villains is just as bad, or Vandal Savage and his plans of conquest, the injustice league, crime syndicate, etc etc.

I loved JL War, it suits this continuity perfectly, plus is something we saw coming since the beginning of this thing, and it leaves the open door for Darkseid to return with an even greater threat, besides, that's exactly what Singer did with Apocalypse, just one movie before to set up Apocalypse, who is the X-men analogue to Darkseid and Thanos.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Goyer will be the first villain the Justice League will face, but unfortunately not over come.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I was just watching BTAS the Clayface episode, I would LOVE if Clayface was one of the villains of a Batman movie.
