Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

At this point the only confirmation we have regarding this movie is Batman and Superman are in it. Lex is the main villain. Wonder Woman/Diana Prince is in the film, but we are not sure how much. Everything else is just a rumor.

A part of me likes that DC is keeping a lid on this thing, especially since it will not be out for another 2 years. But the rumor mill is going to get annoying. I was hoping if nothing else, they would use SDCC to reveal the cast of the League. But it seems they are not bringing this one.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Curious does “Dawn of Justice” Batman exist in the same world as Nolan Batman or are they two separate timelines. Sorry this might sound like a dumb question but I am not a comic guy and do not know the lore. If DOJ Batman does exist in Nolan world then this new movie would take place between BB and TDK right? Or Batman comes out of retirement after TDKR.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I was looking at some Aquaman mock ups and Momoa wouldn't look half bad, even with some fake blond hair I think he could pull off the look.

As far as DC/WB is concerned Nolan's Batman is an Elseworld's tale, and completely different from Batfleck. Which if you want to use comic book like logic, Batfleck is the real Bruce Wayne/Batman. Nolan's version is just a side story in an alternate reality. Like in comics where Superman's rocket crashed in Gotham instead of Smallville and he was adopted by the Waynes.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

So, would that make every other Batman and Superman movie else worlds tales? :lol people here are not going to like the sound of that.

It's a good analogy but I don't think the "What if/Elseworld" thing counts in movies, they're just reboots after reboots.

I don't mind this one. It looks good. And I don't think the hair is all that big of a deal. Hell, DC/WB just did a flash tv show, and Barry Allen is a brunette. I could deal with Arthur having dark hair.

People around here would complain no matter what DC did.

Yeah, I really meant it more as an analogy. I always come to these films from the comic perspective, so I figured that would be the easiest way to explain it.

He looks more like Ming the Merciless than the king of Atlantis.

I think the darker hair is a plus. They need to do everything they can to distance the character from the old campy, seahorse riding Superfriends version that pretty much everyone outside of hardcore comic book fans still see him as. In that pic, he actually reminds me a bit of James Mason's Captain Nemo.

I can see that! I figured that's why they went after Momoa if this all turns out to be true. They want Aquaman to be like Khal Drogo. Which is not a bad thing. He was a bearded badass in the Bruce Timm Justice League cartoon.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

That's definitely the reasoning behind the Momoa cast, IF he is playing Aquaman, I believe it still a rumor isn't it? :lol

I do think they could have redeemed the character in the audience eyes without messing too much with the original look, but that doesn't mean Momoa can't end up being good too.

He's no longer denying it, now he talks about how his ideal role in a superhero film is more of an anti-hero and not like Superman. Even when asked directly now about playing Aquaman, he no longer just says it's not true. So take that for what you will.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Yeah, but still no one is confirming it :lol I know, he's probably Aquaman at this point.

Although, I think it's dumb that some websites were "Momoa hinting at Anti-hero Aquaman" when he specifically said he has no idea how Aquaman will be presented in the movie, he just said "I see myself more as an anti-hero"... That's not a statement on Aquaman in the slightest.

That's entertainment journalism :lol
