Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

S3 gave me a lump in my throat when Harry died.

ASM2 gave me a lump in my throat watching Spidey free falling and swinging in 3D

Which is more important.

I still don't get why it was rebooted.

I completely get why it was rebooted.
:lol

Franco gave me a gag reflex in my throat. His performance was embarrassing in Spidercreep 3.
:lol

Rorywan: good taste in everything cept' Spida-Man and recliner chairs.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Ugh, didn't know that about ROTS. Damn, Rory.

Makes sense why he'd like Garfield Pida-Man though. Dude channels Hayden Christensen to a tee!

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

"Pida" sounds like "gay" in Russian... Now everything makes sense!

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The thing I don't get is, why did they **** with Raimi in the first place. Spider-Man 1 was a hit and Spider-Man 2 was a huge critical and financial success. What was there to meddle with?

Why stick their noses in 3 and 4 after getting good things? Avi Arad said that "Da keeds wanta Venom, we need moar villains?" So what? Why not just let Raimi do his thing?

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Because that's what studios do. . .also, they probably got the bean counters involved.

"Test groups like A, B, and C. The foreign audience is looking for D. Potential sponsors want E and F. Producer wants pet favorite G. . .well, what are you waiting for Raimi? You don't get paid by the hour."

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Whenever you have a wild, smashing success on your hands, everybody involved tries to take credit for it, whether it's the star actor, the director, the producer, the studio chief or the investors.

I actually blame Raimi and I think the problem was giving Raimi too much control over the script.

Spiderman film

written by

David Koepp (good writer)
Alvin Sargent( uncredited )

Spiderman 2 was a perfect sequel

written by

again Alvin Sargent (two time Oscar winner )

Story by

Alfred Gough
Miles Millar
Michael Chabon

Spiderman 3

written by

Sam Raimi
Ivan Raimi
Alvin Sargent

Story

Sam Raimi
Ivan Raimi

See what I mean. If the studio wanted Venon, let Alvin Sargent write a good script with Venom, but no, Raimi wanted Sandman and he was determined to put him in there, plus Osborne , and Venom to keep the studio happy. I don't know where the stupid dancing came from...probably Ivan Raimi.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The script Raimi and Co. Came up with was a far cry of what was on screen. You do know that in a lot of these films, the studio demands rewrites and has ghost writers come in and change things up? They go uncredited. Example: Batman Returns went through about 4 drafts and revisions. Writers like Sam Hamm and Daniel Waters who did their respective screen plays had most of their hard work scrapped when WB got an uncredited writer to go to town on their work. The final credits list Hamm and Waters and yet, NONE of Hamm's ideas survived.

So with this, I doubt the blame could shift to Raimi. The was no venom, or Harry amnesia and there sure as hell wouldn't have been emo Parker with a dance number in August of 2004.

That didn't come to fruition, so who knows.

The only Sandman scene that I like is when he is seen for the first time with the dramatic music. That was really well done. The rest, and the story about his daughter was meh. Was the idea of Sandman having a connection to Ben Parker's death in the Raimi script?
