Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I really really hope DC/WB does not try to get in an arms race with Marvel. They need to concentrate on getting out good basic movies that make people fall in love with their characters. I would much rather see them universe build for the long run.

Only fanboys think there is an arms race.
Dc is doing their thing, with their tone.
Wich is miles away from Marvel.
And from the leaks we have of BvS they are not changing direction.
So i dont see the problems here save for the usual suspects screaming at the top of their lungs that its gonna suck and hate it already.
Nothing new :)

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I'm not hating on DC I hope they have all the success they deserve. I just hope they are not as dark and brooding as they seem. These are comic book movies. A bit of levity is needed.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Hopefully the introduction of Batman will lighten the tone from Superman's solo movie.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Heh, you know it's bad when you need Batman to lighten things up.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

But they're called comic books, not tragic books!

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I agree. I bought both HT Man of Steel figures (Hopeman and Gladiator, not Zob) because they were pretty great figures. Do I have them on display anymore? Nope, just Christopher Reeve with a detolf shelf all of his own surrounded by crystals. Because he's worth it.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

As long as it is entertaining the tone does not matter. The dark knight trilogy was dark but nobody complained about.

Why hasn't this thread been deleted for its utterly ridiculous existence in the face of proper Marvel galactic domination yet? :D
If Marvel and DC movie houses were in prison together, DC wouldn't be able to sneeze or laugh without making a really, really, REALLY, terrible mess on the chair.

I've had a good deal of enjoyment from reading DC comics across the years of my life, I really have a lot of favorites there and I know the characters. But I could barely tolerate the first Bale Batman, got too drunk to care during Heath's apparent epic performance in an otherwise lackluster sequel that I don't care to revisit, and would rather shave my *** with a kitchen torch than bother with the third entry.
MOS was an embarrassment. The trailers made me so hopeful for him. Oh, the irony. Hopeman let me down so hard. And it ain't got nuffin to do with broken necks and billions in property damage. It was just stupid from the get-go.
