Has there been any coverage on a SP campaign? I really hope they nail this one as thats the only reason I havent invested in this series. I know its all about MP with Battlefield, but I think thats because they dont give the SP campaign the attention it deserves. With these graphics I really hope they make something spectacular on that front.

I don't think you will ever see the campaign you are wanting for the bf series. Like you said bf is all about multiplayer. Hell if I remember right bf3 is the first real bf to have a campaign. Honestly i wouldnt care if they could get rid of single player all together. Plenty of other games who could do it right.

Again though...it wouldn't be "all about the multiplayer" if the single player was good. A Farcry style BF campaign would be freaking amazing IMO.

Never played the sp on bf 3 and rarely do it on the CoD games.

The CoD campaigns can be fun. They're short, heavily scripted and repetitive, but still can be fun. Bad Company had a great campaign that I had a lot of fun with. Played through it several times even. They gave you little sandboxes to play in with lots of vehicle options. Bad Company 2 started the slide. It had a much more linear structure and less options (and fun) as a result. BF3 went for a straight CoD campaign. Heavily scripted, linear and short. It didn't have the fun of a CoD campaign though.

I'm guessing BF4 will continue that trend. It will look, sound and play great, but be derivative. It's too bad. A big, fleshed out, open world campaign with this engine and the control and sound design these games have could be so much fun.

Battlefield 4 will officially support 66 players on PC and next gen platforms, which is 2 more than the previous game in the series (due to the addition of the new Battlefield 4 commander feature). But it could be a lot more, according to a new rumor.

DICE is said to be considering 70 or more players in Battlefield 4 multiplayer. This comes from the same source who accurately tipped us about the new Frostbite 3 game engine back in March. According to our source, multiplayer with 70 or more players is being tested, but it’s not certain what the results are so far.

There are two key reasons why 70 players could very well happen. For one, the new squad system has 5 payers per squad, which results in uneven squads with the current 32 players (6 squads would have 5 players, while the last squad would only have 2). Having 35 players would mean 7 squads of 5 players, with no players being left out.

The second reason is that adding +3 more players per team would face no technical hurdles, nor would multiplayer maps need any significant changes. DICE tested BF3 back in the day with 128 and even 256 players, but found that it just wasn’t “fun”. Some BF3 server owners also managed to hack game servers to support 128 players. Battlefield 4 with 128 payers would be overkill, but 70 players sounds very reasonable.

The Battlefield series has stuck with 64 players ever since the first game was released, over 10 years ago. With the arrival of next gen consoles, now would be the perfect time to increase the player size and really differentiate Battlefield 4 from its rivals (most of which support 64 players on PC).

Damn! 66 players! XD

That's 2, too many.

I look forward to 60+ players. I hated playing on those giant maps with only 12 players per team. It takes forever to actually do anything.

The BF4 demo is coming out in early October. Looking forward to it.

So the Demo comes out October 29th? Nice! :rock

Premium members and MOH owners get it for 3 days in early October.

I also noticed stats transfer over to 4 but I don't think ours will since we are changing over to the PS version.

Hmm might have to find a cheap copy on the PS3 to wear out for a couple of months.

Got ya. We were premium members right? Or does that expire?

Yeah, they probably don't. That would be my guess anyways. Though, the stats are saved in the battle log via the website so maybe they might.

Yeah we are premium members I don't know when it expires but I will defiantly sign up again.

Yeah, It was worth it for as much as we played 3. So I'll go for it again. That's the reason I went for the hardened edition of Ghosts with the season pass included. If we get our monies worth I'm willing to go back in for more.

Is it? I was just going by the date in the video.

Really? Ain't that the release date of the game? End of October. I dunno. I can't wait though. :duff

You're probably right. I'm tired. Didn't sleep till late. Played too much BF3. So I'm very much ... :cuckoo:

Early October would make a little more sense. Give it some time for people try it before the release. No beta for 4 I guess.
