Yea, it was pretty gnarly. Buddy and I just stared at each other for a good 30 seconds thinking WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't want to know what happened after that. :yuck :lol

Seriously though, I think they are arriving after the human race on earth has had a nuclear war and basically destroyed the earth themselves. To see the look on all of their faces after everything they went thru was crushing. Can't wait to see where this goes on Friday. Damn the bastard that decided this would be the final season!! :cuss :monkey2

I wasn't really surprised by the destroyed Earth. What were they expecting to find, a happy safe world? Doesn't really fit with the tone of this show, and would be a somewhat cheap "happily ever after" ending.

I'm just going to be happy to be able to finally record the full final episode of last season. The f'n weather ^^^^ed when it originally aired and the first 5 minutes didn't record since the reception was out. :banghead

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl First there was staring, then it moved on to petting, :monkey1:monkey1 Can't even type that

There has been an ongoing theme of what comes before happens again and them finding Earth destroyed follows that path. I really love the philosophy of the show, it's much more that than Sci-Fi for me. Methinks that the 13th tribe was actually the First tribe and the survivors of Earth went on to create the 12 colonies and created the mythos of the 13th tribe and Earth for a way for their "children" to find their way home.

Now that they have found "home", the cylons and humans are going to have to find a way to coexist. They will discover, I think, that even though they were from different origins, they are essentially the same.

I initially thought, after the beginning of the 3rd season, that Baltar was somehow going to be thought of as the singular Cylon God; with him not really belonging to either the humans nor the cylons and his connection with #6 and his role in the destruction of the 12 colonies. Really hope they expand on his role as a pariah or prophet to others. His character is very intriguing.

Ah sorry for the rant, just excited about the new episodes.

Here's some info for the new episode....Some of it is spoilery, but nothing HUGE

Some notes on tonight’s well-worth-the-wait don’t-miss-at-any-cost episode of “Battlestar Galactica.”

* If you want to see the first 90 seconds of the episode, click here.

* The revelations in the first 10 or 15 minutes of are so staggering in their hugeness, you may feel like you’re watching the first few minutes of the series finale.

* Baltar’s back in labcoat, and in superscientist mode. No worshippers lurking about.

* We learn how long ago the planet was nuked.

* Anders finds a guitar neck.

* Dualla cries over a set of jacks she finds in the sand.

* Starbuck & Leoben decide to explore the planet together.

* Dualla babysits Hera for Athena & Helo. (So I gather those scenes deleted from the prior episode - the ones depicting Athena's violent death - never happened.) This scene may prove important later.

* A major character speaks the words, “What am I?”

* Six finds something astonishing in the sand.

* Starbuck finds something astonishing in a field.

* Gaeta finds something astonishing in his bunkroom.

* Tyrol finds something astonishing in his brain.

* Leoben speaks the words, “I was wrong.”

* Roslin comes to some very big decisions. Mary McDonnell may be the finest dramatic actress on the planet.

* An enraged William Adama has a memorably tense conversation with his executive officer. It begins with the words, “Sit down, Cylon.”

* Lee will adjust the number on the whiteboard.

* At least one character will begin hiding a big new secret.

* The scuttlebutt is the final scene deleted from screeners forwarded to the press contains the identity of the 12th Cylon. Which means I'll be watching tonight as well.

Ugh, can't wait. Was thinking of Starbuck and the whole "Harbinger of Death" angle. Anyone think her trip to Earth is what started the nuclear war? Like her ship appearance caused the inhabitants to launch a nuclear strike somehow? Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Gah, I cannot wait for tonight. Especially if we finally know who the Final Cylon will be. As to your theory cereal, I really doubt it. If the nuking was that recent there would be bodies EVERYWHERE. I actually like the theory Caedus has that the 13th Tribe were the survivors of whatever happened, they founded the 12 colonies and then made up the 13th Tribe. Makes a lot of sense when you think about the fact that they would have been able to take natural events and turn them INTO sign posts.

This is pretty much the line that most of my friends and I are following.

But were are wondering if it was the humans that started it against eachother or was it another Human vs. Cylon war?? Maybe history is repeating itself, kinda like the Matrix, were there is an unending loop of this happeneing.

Any last minute theories on the last Cylon? Here's my pick: Helo. I want it to be the most human character on the show. I suspect it will be Adama, but i want it to be Helo. To me, he's the best character on the show, the guy who always has his heart in the right place and follows his instincts. That's my pick, any others?

Ill go with the obvious and call out Starbuck. I know Im probably wrong but since four of the five all have a T in their name, and so does Kara I figured, why not?

Yeah, I think Starbuck is too obvious, but i wouldn't put it past them to do it either. I just hope it's not a disappointing choice. Though with this much anticipation, it'll probably be a let down either way.

I'm trying to talk myself down and lower my expectations because the show has been the single greatest dramatic television program I've ever seen and don't want to have unfair expectations going into the last 10 episodes.

It's not working......
