My biggest curiosity is WTF Starbuck is? Their is only 12 models of Cylons so if Ellen is indeed the last, what is Starbuck? I wonder if she's going to be a God like creature, meaning God brought her path the way it is, to show humanity and Cylons what their self destructive path will lead to. Too much to speculate on and after a good night's sleep, the more I think about the episode the more I'm okay with what happened.

As much as I wanna gush and ruminate on how great the plot progression was in that episode, I want to mention the performances.

Firstly, I do not like a drunk and angry Bill Adama. It makes me uncomfortable when he's not in control. Was it just me or did anyone else think Olmos' performance was a bit over the top in that scene (reminds me of Adama's tantrum in the previous episode)?

What is everyone's favorite scene in this episode? There were so many incredible sequences, it's hard for me to just pick one.

Lots of twists and turns. I'm really going to miss this series. I'm hoping for a few Sci-Fi channels movies to keep the franchise alive. What really hit home was seeing all the stuff on ebay that they are auctioning off from the series. Reminds me of when SeaQuest DSV went off the air. Hopes of a resurrection died when they announced the big prop and wardrobe auction at Universal Studios Orlando.

Well, it's possible that Starbuck is the model 7 Cylon. They haven't really talked about why the model numbers go from 6 to 8.

Well, there are 12 models. 1-6 are known as well as 8. So that leaves only 5. So basically one of the Final 5 are #7 and the rest are 9-12. So they are all accounted for in the lineup.

And plasmid, I know what you mean... Any time Adama has gotten that close to the edge it's always so shocking and completely out of character for him... so it is tough to watch. In the episode last night there were several stand out performances. I loved the scene with Leoben and Starbuck, the actor who played Leoben worked that scene perfectly. He looked geniunely horrified and shaken. I also loved everything Michael Hogan did, he has made Tigh one of my favorite characters during this final season.

And Jaimie Bamber did a great job as well, I particularly loved the moment right after Dee went into her Berthing and the morgue bit. He really did a great job of capturing both emotions perfectly.

Well Moore has seen in interview that the final five are fundamentally different than the others and don't have a model #. So it's odd that they don't fit into the missing #s.

Yea, we've been accustomed for Adama to be in control, seeing him lose that control is hard to watch, and just makes him more human (I love it how everybody on the show is so realistic).

As for Leoben, I'll have to rewatch the episode, but why did he leave Kara when she was looking at her viper? Did she say something to spook him? A train was passing by and I didn't hear.

As for Leoben, Starbuck was asking him what it meant, her body being there. He said that he didn't know...that he had been wrong...about her..about Earth..about everything.

She then told him what the Hybrid told her, and he said..."she told you that?"... He then backed up even further, and as she kept asking what she was... he just ran off, his whole belief structure entirely shaken.

And you are right about Adama, he is normally so in control that when he does lose it... it's far removed from who he normally is. He has the classic "Bottler of emotions" psychological profile, he holds it in... but once he lets it go, it's epic in scale.

They are doing a BSG TV Movie after the series is done, I'm guessing that's already been shot since they've started auctioning off the props and sets.

You are correct. The webisodes mentioned that in the commentary, they said that you don't see CIC because of it. They only had the Raptor set, a hallway and the secondary strategy room (or whatever the hell it's called) because the rest were torn down already. And after they shot the webisodes....these too were taken down.

There were a lot of great performances in this episode. I loved that scene with Leoben and Starbuck to. The actor (I'm not sure of his name) who plays Leoben did a great job. He was also really good on Californication.

Here's a pretty lenghty interview with Ron "the man" Moore about last night's episode and beyond

OH MAN
So we will come to know, in this next set of episodes, who knew that Ellen was a Cylon, and that will play out in what’s coming?

Yes.

So we’ll see her again. Does she figure prominently in the season?

I don’t want to give too much away, but it won’t be the last time that you see Ellen.

We see the flashback of Tyrol in that marketplace, and it seemed like a planet full of lots of different kinds of people, not just 12 different models. Is that right?

Yes.

I thought Dee shooting herself was gratuitous. The writers just wanted to keep shocking us.
Things were starting to look up for her and she didnt have that type of personality.
Unless some bigger payoff is in the works it was a poor decision.
As far as Starbuck goes.....not a clue...hope the writers dont paint themselves into a box and cop out and screw up the ending.

I didn't think Dee's suicide was bad writing at all. As I was watching the episode I said to my wife... "Watch someone kill themselves... probably Dee because she was so devastated once she saw the jacks."

She broke down, and as someone who has known people who have committed suicide...and someone who has almost been there myself.. I know what goes on with someone mentally. The characters in the story were holding on to that last gleaming hope that Earth would be their home. Once that hope was stripped away, sorrow would come rushing in...along with rage for some.

Dee had her hopes crushed at a time when she really didn't need it to happen. Her ex husband is gone from her life, and still in love with another woman in a way. He's left the military as well, further distancing himself from her. The support system she created for herself (the military) was crumbling around her as people fell into despair. And to find those things on the beach... that was the last straw. It reminded her of home, of all that she lost. And that children had died right there on that beach just like they had on the 13 colonies. It was too much for her to bear.

I could see the snap, right after she returned on the Raptor she acted normal...even happier than normal. Just saying goodbye to her life and trying to have that last happy moment before she died. It was shockingly realistic to me, and made sense for her character. It was a shock, but suicide always is. The people you think would kill themselves aren't always the ones who do. Even the most stable people can go off the deep end and give up.

Finally saw this episode (thank God Scifi puts the episodes on their website :D) and all I can say is Holy ^^^^!! Lots of surprises there......Did not think Ellen would be the final cylon....was thinking it as Starbuck since she found her body.....now who knows what she is....lots of interesting theories out there and I can't wait to see how this all plays out.

Boy I got sucked in watching the Auction Network auctioning off props from the show......wanted to get something...but dang! :horror Everything of course I liked went for a minimum of $5000. :lol Hopefully I'll have better luck on ebay.

Hmmm, the auction is only about 25 miles from where I live, I think I might go take a drive down there to see all the stuff.

The actor who plays Tigh was there...so was the actress who played the figher pilot that died...can't remember her name.....she was strung out for awhile and then got her crap together....beat Starbuck as Top Dog and then died.
