What they really need to get cracking on is Padmes. There are a whole lot of those that need to be made.

I'd second that, I've said before though, they've got a perfect face sculpt going, so now it's just a matter of clothing and hair pieces, but she does have some intricate outfits in some cases. I'd like a pregnant one to go with Anakin.

I'm getting more and more excited about this figure as I think about it, it's just a pretty cool outfit and appearance of Luke, I'm already thinking of doing photos with it...

..."The Force is with you young Skywalker....but you are not a Jedi yet." That first moment where Luke lays his eyes upon Vader is great stuff.

Valid points for sure, but at the core of their decisions, Sideshow has to approach choices based on a business approach. Nute Gunray and Mon Mothma are good examples of figures that might not sell very well and I imagine Sideshow has to make a certain number of pieces in order for the profits from them to justify the expense of production. Of what's been offered so far, Kit Fisto and Plo Koon were the only non-mainstream characters offered as solo pieces and I think the decision was to build up the Jedi line. The elements of Jabba's court aren't mainstream, but they're components to an environmental display that carries a lot of weight; people wanted Salacious and Bubo and Bib to go with Jabba and Sideshow wanted to see the Jabba environment really grow into something impressive. The Endor Troops, while conceptually really out there, had a fairly rational mindset. Sideshow wanted to start a militaries troop building branch to the line, and between R&D for armored troops, and a love in the company for war subject matter, it was a natural choice to choose troops that most closely resembled and real world army to start out with. As for multiples of Luke and Leia, when it comes down to figuring out who's going to sell, the odds favor you strongly when you stick with the core characters, and considering the higher end market of Sideshow, you have to look at it that way. Hasbro could have afforded to diversify more because at $20 a pop it's no big thing, but I'm sure many of you also saw the background people like Zam Wessel sit on the shelves for months never moving, and ultimately Hasbro was trying to release items that move and also make key characters available to the kids so if they miss one Jedi Luke, the have another chance later. I have no doubt that Sideshow will offer us a good diversity as well as revisiting characters, there's just no way to satisfy everyone so they have to worry about themselves as well. People griped about Boushh being the first Leia and put up a stink that ANH should have been done first, well it happend and some griped that we were getting 2 Leias. Yes we're getting 2 Luke's this year, but really, Yavin Luke was geared more around making an Anniversary piece that reflected the first film but would be "unpopular" so to speak enough that if people couldn't secure one there wouldn't be upset fandom, so really, Bespin Luke is the first Luke of 2007 really aimed at being a piece for all, so it's about 1 Luke per year, and when you look at having Asajj, likely Illum Padme, ANH Obi-Wan, ANH Leia and I'm sure some other nice surprises in store at SDCC, we are getting a healthy range of pieces offered to us, and there are bound to be choices people don't agree with but it's never a companie's fault if your specific wants are not met. You have to allow yourself to enjoy what comes and not get caught up in what could be, otherwise you'll miss out on the fun of what is.

Maulfan's absolutely on the money . I have no problem shelling out for another Luke . Collecting Star Wars and complaining about multiple Luke Skywalkers is like going to a rock festival and moaning about the noise! And bear in mind , the more "core" characters released relatively early on in a line, the more likely first time collectors are to get on board and collect subsequent figures .

I personally think that there are about 5 more Lukes after Bespin Luke that must be made.
Tatooine
Stormtrooper
X-Wing
Hoth
Endor

I am going to get flamed for this, but I do not think we need a Tatooine Luke. The Outfit on the Tatooine Trilogy Luke from Hasbro was nicely done (even if the face and body were poo on a stick). Or, the 100th 12" Hasbro Luke also came with a nice Tatooine Luke with all his accessories. Give me a X-Wing Luke with a good ANH sculpt and I can switch them out every now and then. I don't know ... Tatooine Luke has always been boring to me.

We also don't need an Endor Luke. Just pick up the Hasbro Speederbike Luke on the cheap on Ebay - toss the body - and use the poncho and helmet with the Jedi Luke. That's what I did and they work very well together.

I have all of the Hasbro 12" but we need all of the major Luke outfits in 12" and about 5 in PF in my opinion.

I want all of my figures in their different outfits on display. If the jacket comes off Bespin Luke and he has his Dagobah fatigues on underneath I will buy two of him.

That's a great way of putting it. I would have gone Tatooine Luke before this one but I don't mind getting multiple Lukes. I'd like a bit of space between each but either way its cool in the end.

Yeah, that would really stink.

Sorry, it's Friday and I have a half day of work, it's beautiful out. I couldn't resist!!:monkey3

LMAO!!!!!!!:rotfl:lol:google

I commissioned Hurricane a little while ago to customize for me a Bespin Luke similar to the earlier one that he did (of course mine has new modifications but here's a pic of the first one)

It's nearly completed and I'll be sure to post pics of it once it arrives--- but then oh low and behold SS announces (or rather leaks) that one of the next pre-orders will be a *gasp* Bespin Luke...

What's a completist to do?:D As it's been previously mentioned I'll make a Dagobah Luke out of the SS version. Of course if the Exc. is a bloody stump and a chip that allows Luke to whine out NOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo then I might just have to purchase two of them.

Ive tried to make a totally new Luke bespin than the previous one, the new one uses the SSc luke body minus the monkey arms, has the cathode invertor within the chest along with the power cell, tried to get amore ESB feel with the hair on the jedi Luke sculpt,

Hurricane I really like work on the hair. I mean the whole thing looks excellent, but I'm most impressed with the extra mile you went with the head!

I'm still with the majority I think, Bespin Luke will be a welcome addition. If there was ever a Luke figure to gripe about this would certainly not be it. I also find it interesting that had the Bespin Luke come out first, and this was the ROTJ version they were releasing now a lot of nay sayers would change their tune. Everyone has their definitive Luke, and several others here this is mine.

Now what if medicom comes out with a 12" Bespin Luke.Do you think it will be better then sideshows'??Or do you think medicom will even make one,I mean they eventually made Darth Maul.

It doesnt really matter. Just get which ever you like. If medicom ever releases a Bespin Luke, you could either buy and keep both, sell the SS one if the Medi is better.

Dont let "what if they made..." stop ya from getting the figure you wanted.

I'll be getting this SS bespin Luke and if medicom ever releases it's own, I'm definately getting that too.

It may be some time before Medicom decide to make a Bespin Luke but if they did I think it would be no contest as to which one would be better, especially where the quality of attire and poseability is concerned.
People who prefer SSC's figures will no doubt say the sculpt on a Medicom Bespin Luke wouldn't be as good but SSC have hardly nailed Hamill's likeness after 5 attempts in 2 different scales and with Medicom's recent improvement in sculpting likenesses of non Asian actors I think they would likely do a far better job than their previous Luke sculpt.

It seems the destiny of Luke figures to stir up the Medi-Sideshow questions, but the arguments will just go round and round. Those who feel Sideshow is getting Hammil's likeness will say so, those that think Medi did well and could do better with their current sculptors will say so. Until such time as Medi does repeat Luke, the debate isn't going to change it'll just be the same arguments from the same people. Like has been said, bottom like, it doesn't matter what could be, what is before us is what is and we have only that to judge and weigh and if some people truly hold out that Medi makes this, more power to you but no need to stir anything up around here.

Hurricane, as usual, Bravo sir! That looks amazing, your eye for detail is unmatched. I hope that the SS Bespin Luke looks a good as yours.

I'm surprised none has mentioned it yet, but looking at the Diane Kamahele Memorial Fund Bespin Luke Auction:
https://cgi.ebay.com/Bespin-Luke-Pa...oryZ2622QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
The last image in the auction shows What appears to be that tourniquet he had at the end of Empire in his accessories tree:

The other tree there looks like it was reused from the Celebration Luke set because it contains the medal (I didn't host that image, but it can be seen in the third image posted here).
So apparently the Tourniquet is either a regular accessory or it's the exclusive accessory because the Jedi Luke test shot also has the exclusive Blaster on a tree.
I can't wait to see more at SDCC!
