I think the exclusive should really be the Vader head. I don't see any other way for us to get 1/6 version of that, unless they make some kind of Dagobah environment wityh boxes and crates and the lamp...Which I strongly doubt will happen.

The tournaquet and blanket are kinda meh for me. Are pretty much useless with the clean pre-fight version we are getting.

Although if anything, one of those items should come with Luke anyway, and the other should be the exclusive. I really hope they continue the theme of giving the 12" figures the same accessories as the PF line. Hopefully they show him off in all his glory at SDCC! Although I imagine they will.

I doubt there'll be any Dagobah accessories, since the figure is called "Rebel Commander - Bespin"

Well, yeah, but he's only called that because Rebel Commander - Dagobah makes no sense. Not to mention Han is Rebel Captain - Bespin, but also comes with the oxygen mask and Mynock.

Maybe, but the asteroid sequence was just a brief stopover rather than a major part of the story like Dagobah. I reckon it'd be counterintuitive to have a Dagobah accessory.

I'm kinda late to all this (business trip) but I'm quite interested in this figure.
Let's hope this figure gets good paint apps.

I think the 2-pack announcement at SDCC will once again involve something from the 1:6 scale Jabba diorama. SSC unveiled Jabba one year ago at SDCC and it was the buzz of the convention. We all know SSC will continue to flesh that diorama out with quality characters. So, what could the 2-pack be if it's Jabba related? How about a Weequay/Klaatu 2-pack? Or, a Gamorrean Guard/Olaa 2-pack? I just think SSC wants to keep the Jabba diorama on everybody's radar..

Nice theory and all SportsAnchor, but the SSC presentation specified that the first 2-pack would be PT, so no 2-pack additions to the Jabba setup.

I'm very anxious to see a nice picture of the HS on this figure, the preview image is so small, it makes the hair appear to have no detail in it, which I hope isn't the case. Judging by it's similarity to Jedi and Yavin Luke, I have a feeling it's another Mat Falls sculpt.

Why is it that nearly all the human SW figures from SSC have the same facial expression? Are the sculptors told to do them that way because it surely can't be down to lack of ability?
I'm not saying every character should have sculpts with extreme "shouting" type expressions but a bit more character would improve things no end, Dagobah/Bespin Luke should have a look of grim determination or even a touch of fear on his face, but instead Sideshow go for their trademark "glazed over" expression
I have to agree with bcm on this. Some of the action poses I've seen on pictures around here loose credibility, simply because of that plane facial expression.

You have to understand. I'm a longtime SW collector. So I suffered through Kenner and Hasbro releasing umpteen Luke variants. I was burned out on Luke BEFORE the SSC line even started. Now, we have three 12" Lukes and (technically) three PF Lukes already. ENOUGH!!
Even though I never collected the Kenner and Hasbro toys, I feel exactly the same about this. I thought SSC would stress their different approach to the SW license by illustrating a greater diversity, instead they do what has been done forever: multiples versions of the main SW characters. I'd understand if they would save these other versions of already existing figures for later, much, much later. But no, SSC prefers to bore us with multiple versions of characters, and dubious creations like an Endor Striker Force bundle. Really SSC, one Rebel would have been enough. If their armored characters aren't ready for production yet, they can at least do a Lando, Tarkin, Mon Mothma, Nute Gunray, Greedo - SSC makes excellent aliens- , Count Dooku, Zam Wesell, Senator Palpatine/the Emperor, ... So many opportunities to make great figures!

Im going to have to disagree with you guys on this one. Bespin Luke = best Luke variation after jedi and a MUST HAVE for poses with Vader or Yoda. It was a necessity in the line and a wonderful choice. Sure a Vader or Yoda first would have been a nice announcement, but SDCC isn't over yet is it! Multiple characters are not bad, as long as they are iconic!

Well, I am no medi-freak LOL, but I do not think Sideshow needs to make an OT Yoda. Medicom already knocked that one out of the park with their version. I think that this Bespin Luke will look great with the Medi Yoda.

I personally think that there are about 5 more Lukes after Bespin Luke that must be made.
Tatooine
Stormtrooper
X-Wing
Hoth
Endor

Valid points for sure, but at the core of their decisions, Sideshow has to approach choices based on a business approach. Nute Gunray and Mon Mothma are good examples of figures that might not sell very well and I imagine Sideshow has to make a certain number of pieces in order for the profits from them to justify the expense of production. Of what's been offered so far, Kit Fisto and Plo Koon were the only non-mainstream characters offered as solo pieces and I think the decision was to build up the Jedi line. The elements of Jabba's court aren't mainstream, but they're components to an environmental display that carries a lot of weight; people wanted Salacious and Bubo and Bib to go with Jabba and Sideshow wanted to see the Jabba environment really grow into something impressive. The Endor Troops, while conceptually really out there, had a fairly rational mindset. Sideshow wanted to start a militaries troop building branch to the line, and between R&D for armored troops, and a love in the company for war subject matter, it was a natural choice to choose troops that most closely resembled and real world army to start out with. As for multiples of Luke and Leia, when it comes down to figuring out who's going to sell, the odds favor you strongly when you stick with the core characters, and considering the higher end market of Sideshow, you have to look at it that way. Hasbro could have afforded to diversify more because at $20 a pop it's no big thing, but I'm sure many of you also saw the background people like Zam Wessel sit on the shelves for months never moving, and ultimately Hasbro was trying to release items that move and also make key characters available to the kids so if they miss one Jedi Luke, the have another chance later. I have no doubt that Sideshow will offer us a good diversity as well as revisiting characters, there's just no way to satisfy everyone so they have to worry about themselves as well. People griped about Boushh being the first Leia and put up a stink that ANH should have been done first, well it happend and some griped that we were getting 2 Leias. Yes we're getting 2 Luke's this year, but really, Yavin Luke was geared more around making an Anniversary piece that reflected the first film but would be "unpopular" so to speak enough that if people couldn't secure one there wouldn't be upset fandom, so really, Bespin Luke is the first Luke of 2007 really aimed at being a piece for all, so it's about 1 Luke per year, and when you look at having Asajj, likely Illum Padme, ANH Obi-Wan, ANH Leia and I'm sure some other nice surprises in store at SDCC, we are getting a healthy range of pieces offered to us, and there are bound to be choices people don't agree with but it's never a companie's fault if your specific wants are not met. You have to allow yourself to enjoy what comes and not get caught up in what could be, otherwise you'll miss out on the fun of what is.

You can never have enough lukes IMO (it never gets old to me)

bring em on SS!!
