Holy smokes! My favorite version of Luke might just end up being my favorite Sideshow figure! The new changes look fantastic.

Don't they just? I can't believe how great he looks. Sideshow really has moved up with these last few figures. The quality is becoming amazing on these things.

I can't wait to see the next few figures in development, let alone get these figures in hand.

WOOHOO!!!! That looks great! Sideshow is awesome!!!

I see improvement with each figure in this line. Can't wait to get this one.

Actually, I'd say you're wrong. Pissing and moaning gets your balls broken ala "flip the collar up" tip. Constructive criticism can achieve change.

"Pissing and moaning" is what some people like to call some of our "constructive criticism".

I was being tongue in cheek using the term others give it. :D Of course I wouldn't look at my own remarks as "pissing and moaning" duh.

I'm not sure what you mean by flip the collar up breaking our balls, though.

Ok, well what I consider pissing and moaning around here is things like "oh they ****ed it up, Hasblow could have done just as good or better," which won't help matters, but saying things like "the collar should be this or that to be more film accurrate," comes off as an adult thought and warrants a listening to and can lead to productive things.

As for the flip collar ball breaking, it goes with a statement I made earlier that after seeing these pictures with the time between Sideshow taking the flipped collar pictures and these, I think the whole flip the collar up pictures and story was to break balls over the childish griping that the collar instigated; they knew that had a knew costume for it coming, they knew people weren't happy, so I think they decided to have a goof with them, and if so, it's pretty clever.

Re-tailored or re-futzed, the outfit looks great. I was fine with it before, but now it's looking dangerously close to HT/Medicom quality.

The improved outfit is very encouraging to see, have SSC been getting a few pointers from Hot Toys on tailoring?
It's a shame they probably won't make any changes to the vacant expression of the headsculpt as well otherwise I'd be tempted to buy one.

Remember, it wasn't Sideshow that turned down Andy's sculpt. It was LFL. I believe they wanna keep the expression more neutral... As do I actually. :D

Agreed, for an figure like this, neutral face is the way to go, or if you're talented enough (like Oluf, Trev, Andy and Tim) you work very sublte emotion into the sculpt so it's still essentially neutral in expression, but there is still life to it. The Palpatine is a shining example of this.

I agree with that.....if all you do is say "this sucks" or something then its not much of a criticism. I don't see that really happening that much here or anywhere and if so its easy to dismiss or ignore anyway.

As for SSC having a prank on us, its kinda funny though I would hope they wouldn't purposefully go through the whole SDCC and preorder experiences with a subpar product just to mess with fanboys! Awfully risky.

Eitherway, glad this thing looks closure to what I expect from them. :chew

It's now obvious how much of a difference that collar makes. I'm glad SS was able to rectify the collar issue. The figure looks great.

I don't think SS was playing a prank on their customers with the flip-up collar announcement. It may now play out that way, in order to not look bad, but at the time, it was pretty lame for a prank.

Well I don't think they used what they did at PPO and SDCC knowing they had better, I think they just failed to anticipate how **** we can get on details and figured they could coast by until they were ready to photograph the new outfit; with all the SDCC prep, the product page photos may have been shot over a month ago to get it out of the way and box him up to take to the show.

I wasn't aware of that but I'm not suprised to hear that Lucasfilm had something to do with it,I certainly don't think there's a lack of ability from the sculptors. I just think it would be nice to have a bit more variety in the expressions as the neutral look doesn't always fit certain characters.

man those threads keep on going forever..much ado about nothing

Alternate head sculpt variety packs would be an awesome solution to that.

A lot of people like neutral, a lot of people don't.

They should cover both sides by offering both.

I'd pay $25 for this 4 pack:

Han, eyes closed, with slicked back hair
Kit Fisto smiling
Mace screaming
Anakin yelling or really pissed off

Anyone going to take the initiative to make a scale weathervane for Luke to hang from? Or the scaffold he clutches as Vader tells him his true origins?

I'd love to do it, but I think its a bit above my current modeling skillz.
