People love Khan, but i picked First Contact. Can't go wrong with a full length feature starring the BORG!

I'd say Abrams Trek is the best ... partially because it doesn't have the baggage of some of the other ones, which makes it appealing to wider audiences. My wife even liked it.

Wrath of Khan and First Contact, which I would consider two of the remaining contenders, are both continuations of storylines set in the TV series ... the Borg and Khan. People with no Trek experience aren't going to know enough.

I'd rank them as follows ..

Star Trek
Wrath of Khan
First Contact
Undiscovered Country
Generations
Nemesis
Voyage Home (very funny ... but the weird whale plot stunk)
Search for Spock
Motion Picture
Insurrection
Final Frontier

Even though i voted for JJ's Star Trek the Lens Flares played havok with me no end, i have quite sensitive eyes and the constant flashes across the action provided nothing more than a distraction to the events on screen, On DVD i find the flares to be less of a distraction but still damn annoying.

I expect they'll be gone in the next film. They may well have had a subtle attraction in the trailers and on first viewing - 'wow, Trek has never looked like this before...thats cool....I guess'. But JJ will look back on this film with hindsight and ask himself "yeah why did we do that again?"

Thanks Ween. I didn't even notice that in the movie. When I go to movies I must check my brain at the door or something... :lol

One thing i really hated about the Trek movies was how they reused the destruction scene of Changs BOP in ST: Generations, and i am sure they did it a few times on DS9 and maybe TNG.

That ain't a big deal to me, as only the über fanpersons are gonna notice. One area I wish they hadn't skimped on was mastering TNG and the other spin-off series on videotape instead of film. We're (and they're) paying for it now with no HD releases.

Though I guess they had budgetary constraints at the time, and the series may not have been viable otherwise.

I've noticed on certain episodes of CSI Miami that they had a lot of it, especially when they are using their computers or in court. (who has clear glass courtrooms?)

If only forensics labs really did look like the CSI miami ones, so stylish and colourful with holograms and minority report computer screens. Its nonsense of course.

lol yea, and hot chicks working everything. yea. realistic. But it is one of the few shows I like.

Wrath of Khan was the best original b/c Khan was great in the TV series, and to have a movie where he comes back is just awesome. Loved it.

But I have to say I liked the new Star Trek the most, as it's probably the best film/remake/reboot ever (imo). And I really like the cast, they did a great job and were convincing as younger versions of the characters.

I just got this in an email from Entertainment Earth :lol

I'm really not a big enough Trek fan for that, but part of me wants it for the sheer geekiness of it.

Also, check out the Star Trek cologne. Hilarious!

There are soooooo many people around my area that have the Christian fish on their car. I'm sure this would piss off someone if I got it! :lol

I love all the variations on the Jesus fish. The one with legs that says Darwin. And I really get a kick out of the Jesus fish eating the Darwin hybrid. :rotfl
