And don't forget to add the point between the eyes, called the 'widows peak'. Its a V or Widows Peek at the bottom of the helmet's dome. I used Magic sculp to add mine, then painted it black and that's it! :)

Sorry guys but according to celebrity heights.com Davis Prowse is 6'2" tall and Vader is 6'6" tall. Which would make sense if he had 2" for boot heels and 2" for the top of his Helmet. Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca is 7'4" tall. So that means your 1/6 Vader should be an even 13" tall and any Chewbacca should be 14 2/3" tall. I modified my Medicom Vader, Anakin , and Luke so they would be the correct heights. Mark Hamil is 5'7" tall so he should come up to between Vader's chin and his nose. Hayden Christiansen, who is 6'1" tall should be about 12" tall. Ewan McGregor is 5'9" so he should be 4" shorter than Anakin. I love all the mods done here and I'm not trying to bash sideshow but the truth is that they are not true 1/6 scale. They can be modified to be in scale with each other but not true 1/6. If Obi Wan is 12" and he is not 6' then where do you begin to modify? Who do you start with?

I raised my Medi Anakin to 12" so he should be about correct 1/6. Vader I had to add a long post to make him 12 3/4". Still a little short but I think he looks good. Luke I removed the short ankle posts and now he is 11 1/8" which should put him at 5'7" in 1/6 scale. The Chewy is ROTS Hasbro which is 14 1/2". Just shy of the 14 2/3" he should be.

Lord helmet on stilts. I lowered the cod piece and belt since I took those pics and it looks a lot better now.

I modified my Medicom Vader [...] the correct heights.
Just shot a Medicom Vader on the bay for 25 Euros. What did you do to 'rise Lord Vader' to his full genuine height?

I need to finish my medi-vader custom.... anyone got a slim truetype to spare?
Is a Slim Body strictly needed for a Vader? And yeah, I'm also looking for a Slim True Type Caucasian, there hell of a high priced figure and it seems there's no alternative. My SS Stormy can't fight without help, really want him to stand alone!

I used the medicom long ankle post to raise him up. I have four medicom xmen 3 wolverines I customized to make other xmen and took the long ankle posts from one of them so they would be shorter than wolverine and added it to vaders ankles as you can see in these photos. It raises him up to almost the right height, about a 1/4" shy, but still looks good.

Remember, there's no such thing as a stupid question, so here it goes:

If you do the torso mod and drop Vader's height 1/2"-3/4", doesn't that cause the cape to be too long? I noticed lforigno makes two different length capes depending on stock vs modded. Is it just a given that everyone doing this mod is picking up a short lforigno cape?

I didn't notice much of a problem with the standard cape after shortening Vader... but when I got the replacement cape I did request the shorter one. Which is more important due to the way it hangs.

OK, thanks. I just looked at Toy Anxiety and there are a number of Prometheus bodies available, but none are the Stormtrooper / Clonetrooper. They all look a little different. Is there a list of which bodies will work?

Any trick to getting the dome off the helmet?

Mine's really glued tight. Afraid to break it.

Got mine yesterday. I just put a thumb on his nose and squeezed gently in a rythum till the glue started to loosen. Then it just popped right off.

Gave him the Stormtrooper lower torso last weekend. I'm having the same issues as Kuzeh. Now the belt and cod-piece look too high up.

I think I wrapped too much tape to pad his mid-section, now the belt can just barely close in the back.

Can the Vader abdomenal part be used on the Stormtrooper?

If so, it would save one from trashing the rest of the Stormie body and provide a taller body for a Stormie, perhaps for Stormtrooper Han. (and give a height difference to the Luke Stormie.)

So for sure this won't work? This was the first thing I thought of when I started reading this thread. Is there no way to mod the Vader ab piece to make it work? Has anyone actually tried?

I shortened both the ab piece and the thighs when I cut mine down. Took about 1/8 off of each, and it worked just fine.Just wish I could do the same to his gauntlets...PS

I decided to finally give this mod a try. Wish me luck! (Are there any similar tutorials for the helmet mod?

For those that are interested, here's a closer look at how to do this simple modification:

First, I took a Stormtrooper Prometheus figure apart, which is all easily done by simply starting with the chest piece & undoing the tiny screws in the back:

picture.php

Then, I did the same with Vader's body which, for the most part, is just a larger version of the Stormtrooper body:

picture.php

You can see here how much the abdominal pieces differ in size, which I measured to be about half-an-inch in height:

picture.php

Here's Vader's body assembled with the smaller abdominal pieces:

Digging around the house, I found some nice thick black Gorilla Tape that could fill out Vader's otherwise emaciated waistline:

picture.php

BTW, it is very important that the Stormtrooper's spring-loaded bolt with the square base is used to connect the pelvis to the abdomen. The bolt on Vader is designed for a smaller slot & it will slip out of the Stormtrooper abs, causing the figure to fall apart!

Once you slip his body suit on, it should still fit nice & snug even at this slightly shortened stature:

picture.php

As Vader gets completely suited up, you can hardly tell he's even had any work done:

And, once the cape is on, voila -- a perfectly sized 1/6th-scale Vader! By my measurement, he's almost 14 inches, which I suppose works out to what a near seven-foot Vader should be:

Anyway, I don't remember seeing any similar suggestions here on how to easily resize this figure without the need for Dremels, messy glues or hack saws. Of course, any & all feedback to my solution here would be greatly appreciated! ;-)

Good luck, of all the things wrong with this Vader the height was the least of my nickpicks, though if the new Vader is shorter I might give this mod a go to even them up

Are you happy with the new height Pix? It's not a dramatic difference, but I think the figure looks way better afterward especially in relation to other figures.
