Re: Discussion thread for SS's SUPER SECRET project

Sir, I know necroposting.
I know Top Gun and personally had a hand in casting Tom Cruise in the film.
And I know Mr. Clancy F. Brown.

They may very well be awesome.

But you, Mr. Handrail, are no Clancy F. Brown.

:rotfl:lol:rotfl:lol:rotfl

What are we laughing at? :lol:lol:lol I mean looking at? I'm serious, where do I see this Beta site? All I know is, if it's new it's likely to be Beta than the old one. (sic)

Re: Discussion thread for SS's SUPER SECRET project

Top Gun pics, necroposting, and mentioning Clancy Brown's most ignominious role are all grounds for dismissal.

I like the new look but can see where some would call it too busy. I definitely like the new product pages with the SS Ex stickers labels etc....I'm interested to see this thing in full run.

It's a time warp baby.

I guess it had to come to this. eventually this thread will fall into nothingness... while Captain Dave moves all unworthy posts from the supersecret thread to this lowly thread.

Edit: I can't believe this pic wouldn't be wanted in the thread to showcase the new SS webpage. What gives?

I like the layout , it looks very structured and neat compared to the old one.
I also like how it looks ore business like , after all sideshow collectibles is a business. It gives it more of a professional look imo.
Great stuff. :D

Re: Super Secret Project REVEALED - SideshowCollectibles.com Re-Design!

First thought that came to me when I saw it...

CORPORATE.

it looks TOO "businessy" and reminds me of my own employer's homepage. It's also overly wordy and lacks a unique, visual punch that would really grab people. I know they are in the business of showing off and marketing these products but perhaps there is a better way to show them off. The order pages and everything...it just looks "cold".

I do like the layout and hopefully later on maybe there will be more graphics around.

I know it is a work-in-progress, this is just constructive criticism. I sent the same stuff to Sideshow....just posting my opinion here as well.

Totally agree with you!!!! I don't like how it looks so plain and white and corporate like, hopefully a lot of that will change.

You guys have to try the new search feature!!! You can find almost anything you are looking for in no time!!! And the "Narrow Search" function is fantastic!!! :rock

I'm not liking the new design. I know this doesn't make sense, but to me it looks too plain and too busy at the same time. Personally, I like the current site much better.

When I searched "star wars," there were 4 Anakin PFs that popped up, two for each version, yet Flex Pay wasn't listed on any of them. So that was a bit confusing, plus you see the whole figure. I quite like the thumbnail of the figure's face on the current site.

I may just be old fashioned, but I really just don't see "Sideshow Collectibles" in that site at all. :monkey2

Spent about a good 30 minutes with the new site, and I really do like it. The search is awesome, and I like the "view all" option. Instead of clicking through page after page of products you can get them all listed in one page. I like it.

That's one of the first things I explored too. Much better this way

I just updated my internet explorer like Dusty recommended, and I don't like it either. :lol

I guess I just need to get with the times and learn to update more often, get use to it, and just like it.

I'm still just skimming the site while watching TV, but I just noticed the "flashing" news topics. Much more effective way to show 3 or 4X as much info, like those flashing billboards. But once I saw somthing I was interested in, it switched to something else.

Just click on the area of interest and you will get the top news just for that area, so if you missed a topic, it is easy to find again.

Re: Discussion thread for SS's SUPER SECRET project

I like the new site. Pretty cool while looking at an item it will tell you the top 10 popular items for that catagory.

and mentioning Clancy Brown's most ignominious role are all grounds for dismissal.

So we cant talk about Mr. Krabs?
