I'm satisfied with the tone. It's supposed to be a bit lighter than BB, at least at first.

Maybe it's just me, but I find the scenes with Chuck tedious and depressing. If that's what Gilligan and Gould are going for, they're even more talented than I thought. :lol

I think the show is fine. It has a great pace and each episode is interesting. No need for it to get heavy or morose just yet. Jimmy is a wise cracking con man with a heart of gold. I'm living these little petty scenarios.

The drama will come, there's already this thing of mistrust brewing between him and his brother.

well when i said not dark enough or not light enough it wasn't so much that i wanted a show as dark as breaking bad
i wasnt thinking in the grittiness but i thought the show would have been, maybe more funny, or more wacky. not a "Laugh out loud comedy riot" show or anything like that

but this show does feel a little safe.

It's time for me to get caught up. Better Call Saul - Episode 1. :rock

I like what I'm seeing so far....

It's pretty whacky. Saul's robot voice warning, Special Agent Jeffery Steele, his whole ordeal living in the nail salon, his scams with people, stealing Hamlin's identity for the sign. It feels like a GTA extra missions pack, which is perfect imo.

...'Here's Johnny' :rotfl

:lol That's exactly what it's like, but I love it.

I'm on Episode 3, but this definitely feels in the same vein as BB.

All caught up. So far this show is top-notch. Will definitely do my best to keep up with it weekly. Loved every minute. A worth spinoff.

Vince Gilligan is a truly gifted writer. From writing episodes of The X-Files, to creating both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, the man hasn't put a foot wrong so far.

The Chuck scenes became more interesting this week IMO

Also, was that Casa Tranquilla?

I gotta be honest that if it wasn't for the actor playing Saul,I wouldn't be watching this... I really really like him, he is awesome

But if this was an original series or another actor was playing him, there is no way i would bother with it. I really hope it picks up

Tony the Toilet Buddy was the best. :lol Though I'm pretty sure if Jimmy hadn't put the kibosh on the demonstration, we would've heard these. Spoiler tags for bawdy humor.

"Feeling nice and comfy there? Good! Now **** down my throat! Literally!"

"I've been with lots of fellers. But you're by far the tastiest!"

"Whoa there, cowboy! You expect me to choke down that monster? I'm gonna have to unhinge my lower jaw first!"

One Million Ricky Bucks! :lol And that toilet! :rotfl

Who said this show has no humour?

Absolute comic gold! I just knew when that guy wanted to give Saul 1 million, there would be a catch.

And that toilet....how long until I can buy a licensed accessory for my "sex toylet"? :lol

That crackpot secessionist was hilarious. Though we knew it was too good to be true because Jimmy would've been set for a good while and wouldn't have to one day represent drug kingpins and killers.

That's why I get the feeling that while he'll ultimately prevail over HMM, he won't get the financial windfall - what was it, $25 million? - that's owed to Chuck.
