Yeah, that's why I am less harsh in my opinion about that particular chase.

Reva though....

I just watched the first two episodes. I’m interested to see where it goes but it’s not as good as I hoped so far and certainly not as good as I’ve seen a lot of people saying online. Ewan is great of course, but the actress playing Reva (Riva?) is, frankly, just bad in this and I don’t find her even the slightest bit intimidating. She is definitely “ACTING” (think Calculon from Futurama). Hell the inquisitor that doesn’t even speak is more intimidating than her. Just a complete miscasting on that one and I really hope she’s not the main antagonist for the entire series.

I'd hazard a guess it's not her fault, it's the awful committee written script. And the 20 million imbeciles that would have been in her ear on set... and in the edit room...

I’m thinking Reva is that one padawan we first see in the flashback during order 66?
One of those “I idolized you as a padawan Obi, wanted to be just like you, but when the empire took over you just ran off and hid leaving the empire to take me and turn me so now I will catch you” I don’t see Disney just keeping her as a power hungry villain.

She may have gotten away with repeatedly sassing the Grand Inquisitor. When she turns that on Vader itll be a whole nother story. He will take her head. No innuendo meant, he will actually separate her cranium from her body.

But this is Disney! I hope we dont have to watch her bossing Vader around. I wont stick around for such heresy.

Maybe I'm nitpicking here but I was surprised how easy he found his lightsaber. Given it's been buried for years surely the landscape would have changed (more layers of sand). Yes I'm definitely nitpicking here...

So …..which Clone was that …who became a bum and why would he be a bum , if the Empire just started to develop during this time

Perhaps he didnt want to get sucked into the Empire and deserted? Especially if maybe the rest of his squad was already dead? I dunno, msybe hed just had enough and deserted, or was told to take part in some atrocity and fled the GAR to avoid that.

But if so, youd think he would ditch the armor, with so many Stormies strolling around.

The fan reaction I have seen to this series so far, other than here, has been raves. Really i have to wonder sometimes at the ease with which the general public is pleased. I saw the same thing with BoBF. Its like they and me are watching two completely different things! And its baffling.

I dont HATE this series. Much will depend on how Vader is treated and whether or not Boss Sista starts asserting herself with him, and he lets that happen. I wont be respecting that.

Also ready for less little Leia. I detest her, i really do. Thats what happens when parents dont tame their kids early: utter detestable little brats.

I looked at the IMDB voting yesterday and I think it was 69% who'd rated it 10/10.

It's dropped to 54% now, so the Disney bots must be flagging.

I'm sad to say that I didn't like the first two episodes, they felt very Last Jedi to me.

The trope of the former hero that has lost his nerve is something Disney needs to avoid like the plague, because they seem incapable of writing it well. Both Reeva and Leia come off as brats, which is a huge disservice to Leia's character.

And like in Fett some of the action scenes (the Chase) were so off it really pulls you out of the show.

On the plus side Ewan's great as always, as is Jimmy Smits, and the production is excellent in terms of FX.

Fingers crossed over the next few episodes it picks up.

You’ve crystallized my own thoughts eloquently. I have so many issues with these episodes, that I know, like BoBF,I’ll never force myself to sit through again (at least all the non-Mando episodes). I just walk away feeling so empty. I just don’t care.

I don't expect any kind of [current day] pop culture to be good. I just keep up with certain IPs out of habit and because I'm too weak-willed to sever the ties. But there is nothing of substance in these things anymore. They're not even good toy commercials, they're merely white noise.

How did this chick playing the bad guy get this part? She must know someone high up. In just a couple minutes of screen time she comes off as someone performing community theater. Ugh.
