My gripe with newer star wars shows is that the grandiose of the Star Wars universe like big battles, large facilities and large fleets of star destroyers are… Gone.

Recent shows, Mando, BOBF and now Kenobi, have a similar setting, the desert and mos Eisley-like environments. Sequels were not good, but at least they showed us different parts of the galaxy.
Not even the ST had quality large scale battles :gah:

The extra handy one? :lol

I was looking at the silver space suit at the far back, behind the Bossk pressure suit. I couldn't find a good still of that one, but I seem to remember Mercury being mentioned.
reminds me of Lost in Space (original)

I wouldn’t go so far to say that things haven’t panned out as well as many of us hoped with Disney Star Wars because women are in charge. Look at how unhappy people have been with a lot of the new Kurtzman-led Star Trek stuff. It’s more simply that the people in charge and guiding the franchise just don’t understand what Star Wars was and is to the fans. It was always a fool’s dream to think all the new stuff would continue the core of what Star Wars is without George Lucas, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the show Dave Filoni seems to be most involved with, The Mandalorian, has become the best and most successful of their new storylines.

It’s kinda quaint now to look back at the prequels and think about how so many fans were complaining that those films didn’t “feel” like Star Wars at the time.

I go into each of these shows and films hoping to like it. Going to keep watching to the end and see how it goes. It has definitely hit one of my major annoyances with new Star Wars though which is Disney coming across as a “try hard” for making sure there are plenty of kids or females or minorities represented in the cast. It’s hard not to look at Reva and think they chose this actor—who is horribly miscast—simply because they wanted one of the main characters to be some token representative of a female minority first, and then a good actor second. It just comes across to me as disingenuous on Disney’s part. In contrast, if I think of Fennec Shand, for example, it doesn’t even cross my mind because Ming Na Wen is a bad-ass, fantastic actor first and foremost.

I feel it’s too much Disney orientated in the SW universe now with throwing SJW and cramming so much Diversity and PC down the fans throats it’s become almost commercial than a good old Sci fi era of entertainment Lucas created .

As bad as PT was , I think Disney is going overboard and losing the essence of SW by trying to relate it to the real world today

F### to that…I don’t want to be reminded of the real world when I see SW, I grew up loving SW because it was a escape from the real world :banghead

Maybe that’s why Mandalorian works so well because Favreau’s vision is that of a good old fashion western bad guys vs good guys..outlaws vs loners..no message being expressed.

There was in the background of the cantina.

A space suit and the 1960s RAF high-altitude Windak pressure suit that Bossk later wore (plus the guy in the dark coloured one):

There was also the quick shot of the dude pointing to Chewbacca before he walked away which I guess was the official intro to Chewy

"I just cut your limbs off, stood there and watched while your body ignited, but we're bros so I'm not going to kill you. Oh yeah I'm not going to get you any medical attention either. Okay 'bye bro."
Well, I never took it that way. Anakin was dying and Obi-Wan found it too unbearable to watch; he does look away; on top of knowing Anakin was lost - srsly even dying Anakin was screaming he hated Obi-Wan.

I don't see Obi-Wan being able to take that final stroke; Mace Windu might have.

Thought it was awful.

I think my biggest problem with nu-star wars is that it feels like it’s made by women. It’s felt like that since Force Awakens and has gotten progressively worse ever since. It’s like everyone involved, including the toy industry, forgot that Star Wars was meant to capture the imagination of young boys, from it’s heroes, to it’s villains, to it’s droids. This is some straight up goofy ****.

Wee look at child Leia, look at Reva, yeah, who cares. Not at all what I’d expect from a show about Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Don't think it's awful, but uneven. The kid is mildly annoying; the Inquisitors lackluster. Dunno if SW was specifically targeting young boys vs. George Lucas making kind of a tribute to the films that inspired him - looking at footage of fans from way back, it looks like a lot of women were totally on board.

But IMO it's an insult to both men and women to have *&^% writing, and ruin perfectly good characters like Rey and Finn, to the point where their figures end up being 75% off peg warmers. Never thought when I picked up TFA HT Rey at full price she'd be one I'd be happy to unload. I should have got Jyn Erso instead. Not sure I'd get back much for Rey. I thought the ST might really have something, at the beginning. (*&^%😐😐😐

It would make sense ..he buried the two sabers..he practically took his student’s saber after a emotional battle that he did his best to avoid

Looks like Obi Wan forgave himself overtime

What the hell did I watch...?
So far it's heading down the same path as the BoBF. I'm going to watch the rest of the series before making a final judgement, but I'm not holding my breath. It feels entirely contrived, bloated and lacking in any real narrative substance. The only good thing I've heard across the board is praise for Ewan's acting. Can't help but feel sorry for the guy, though, being stuck with a bad script and bad studio decisions. Glad I deliberately set my expectations low.
So many are coming out and saying it's amazing when anyone can see it got more holes in it than Swiss cheese. Reva is a bad actress that should still be going to acting school. The scenes with leia running like a 4 year old but easily evading adults was just a comedy of error's. The writing is baby talk. And don't even mention the director. Last but not least. The wokeness in the script is injected purposefully at the expense of good writing. Agenda written all through the script.

Well, Obi-Wan is a human....IMO sometimes that's the best you can do, if you've ever known someone in RL who completely changes. Happened to me when a friend got involved with some heavy religious group. He was fun, and funny; then he turned into a pompous self-righteous @ss. It's like all you can do is accept this person is completely someone else now, and move on.

I can’t believe I didn’t think about the connection with her and this scene. I always wonder why this scene was so long..Oh Disney is sneaky

These youtube SW nerds are freaking intuitive :lol

IMO Obi-Wan and what little of Owen are the best parts so far; also the fake Jedi. But yeah, for me Reva is a disappointment and Obi-Wan saving Leia is kind've cringe - feels like Filoni-ing, again. It works, logically, but feels corny too. Like they could have had some remnant Jedi begging Obi-Wan to help him/her off planet, a slight change but for me would have been more interesting, and not been rehash.

Still, Deborah Chow is directing so am gonna have some faith.

That Leia chase scene was hilariously bad. Needs Benny Hill music. The plot, script and some of the acting is appalling.

Glad the one with the mercenaries chasing her didn’t show blaster shots at her

Not the best thing to show after the horrific Texas school shootings this week
