OK, so here's the QUESTION of the evening --

What is the most blatant and offensive lie or retcon is all the Star Wars movies?

Is it what ESB did to ANH Obi-Wan? The First Lie.
Obi-Wan lying about Vader only seemed more emotional after ESB, even though it was a retcon, it was a good one.

But tacking on Leia and Luke being sisters in ROTJ, even as a kid felt like they were just trying to "up" the shock for another sequel. And only further proved Lucas was making things up as he went.

Cutting off from the force wasn’t Rian’s idea. It’s found all over Legends/EU especially in the story of Ulic Qel-Droma who has his connection stripped from the force by Nomi Sunrider. Hell even Grogu has heavily suppressed his connection to the force due to fear of being discovered and past trauma. It’s not an outlandish concept because mental breaks/blocks happen in real life to many people.
Fair, it's not new. But I still have problems with The Force being portrayed as a mystical Internet. Yes all beings are connected via the Force but it doesn't have to be that literal. To each their own I guess.

Me too. But I enjoy watching others debate the lies and sins of their beloved Star Wars.

Muhahahahha!
And that's where we differ. I don't care about what other fans think about the "lies and sins" of SW. It's just their opinion.

Yeah, I don't obsess or go that deep into SW lore. I just enjoy what I like and dismiss what I don't. :lol
This is way too rational for in here. Where's the fire, where's the passion? Didn't you see that Vader's robes were under the chest armor in this episode, and not over them like ANH?!

Yes. I saw and didn't care. :lol
But that's all we have here, isn't it? Our opinions?
Of course, I have mine and my opinion is all that matters to me. I don't have long-winded posts trying to get others to see my POV or subscribe to my opinion. If you do, great. If you don't, that's fine too.

Long-winded posts... especially without humor... are often their own worst enemy.

Excuse me, you Lord Darthness, lunch is here.

Yeah. I mean, if Darth was originally a title, it would have made sense. Dark Lord of the Sith - Darth. But to change it after 20 years of being understood as something else was really odd.

George couldn't come up with an alternate title?

The worst part of this, is actually in ROTS where Palpatine "bestows" the title of Darth Vader on Anakin, almost in passing, as if he thought of the name right at that moment. "Henceforth you shall be known as Darth... um,.. Vaduh."

I mean there is so much wrong with that scene, but that really stands out to me.

Vader puts out fire with a gesture of force hand...fire gets re-ignited...brain dead droid saves obi while fire burns...Vader does nothing...inept Vader...poor writing...or

GIANT PLOT-HOLE (again and again) appears out of thin air.

Must suck being a writer for SW Disney...nope no plot hole...re-write and re-submit your work

It's possible to understand it as he chose to not put the fire out on this occasion. He wanted Obi-Wan to suffer however there's a chance he felt conflicted.
