And about Obi-Wan needing to hit those first two Stormtroopers several times with his saber before they went down...

Back in the day I had a theory that the lethality of a lightsaber is somewhat dependent on its wielder and how well he or she is channeling the Force. And that a well skilled Jedi or someone strong in the Force could cut through almost anything with a lightsaber but it would have lesser affect in the hands of a novice. I came up with that theory watching ESB over and over and noticing that on the gantry Vader sliced through three thick metal poles like they were nothing yet when Luke bashed him hard on the shoulder his saber didn't really cut into him at all.

Then at the Sarlacc Pit Luke is hitting guards left and right and not slicing through any of them. So I interpreted that as him being skilled enough to control how powerful his saber was and elected to reduce it's destructiveness so as to bash them off the skiff and out of his way as opposed to creating a pile of body parts at his feet, lol. And yes of course I know that George just wanted to keep things PG rated but I still like to have these in-universe explanations as well.

And since they deliberately showed that Obi-Wan is apparently quite out of practice at using the Force (still he could barely move that small device on the ship) then maybe for those first two guards he needed to get back into the groove before he could channel enough power through his saber to truly start slicing and dicing.
Because SW never has and never should follow science I guess the saber can actually have different levels of lethality as well.

Instant amputation or hard push back and concussive force your choice depending on your mood, intent and skill level.

I want to hate the hovering SS but god damn if they didn’t also hover when lifting off at Echo base.

I guess it’s official

Reva says "Lord Vader will be pleased" and Obi-Wan looks shocked. She then says "Oh you didn't know. He's alive."

So basically, Obi-Wan did know Anakin was Vader in the show, he just didn't know that Vader was still around. I guess he hid on Tatooine so well he never heard any gossip about the Empire and who the Inquisitors work for, which is also silly.

Vader in this episode?
He was and the one thing I noticed even more than last epsiside is, Hayden is too short to play Vader. The presence of Vader from the OT and R1 is missing. Vader storming into the scene in anger, just looked awkward in this episode. The appeal of Star Wars is quickly waning with BOBF and some of these laughable moments in Kenobi.

Vader looks good in some moments and off in others. I guess that's expected given 3 actors are portraying him. :dunno :gah:

Vader looking awkward hasn’t happened even once in this series.

It’s not Hayden in the costume when the helmet is on the stuntman already revealed that it’s a 6’7” stuntman, two of them actually just like with Mando.

Awkward…..nope, more like scary, intimidating, bad ass!

His presence is front and center when he’s onscreen he is in full control of that scene.

I loved the scene where Obi-Wan was fighting off both Stormtroopers and a Seeker Droid with his lightsaber in the JAWS 3D base.

I crashed early last night so I'm just now catching up with the thread. Thankfully I wasn't drinking coffee when I read this or I'd have sprayed it all over my PC screen. :lol

OK, back to your post...

lol @ the scorched earth attitudes it’s been 50% bad 50% great since 1983.

ROTJ is literally 50% crap 50% great lol

Although Mando i’ll give an 85/15 split.

Mando is special but not even Mando had a villain as great as Vader is in this!

Villains make or break a movie/show hence why Obi-Wan is awesome!

Suck it lol

This episode is ok. I like it better than the last. Obi Wan is getting back on to speed. One thing that would have made this better is if had run into at least 1 Inquisitor and had to fight him maybe resulting to

the water crashing through the tunnel that drowned the rest of the troopers.
