This show manages to demonstrate the short comings of the technology.
As you say, worked well in Mando.
I'd suggest limitations in the directors ability, but she directed episodes of Mando so surely that's not it?
Worked well in Mando and The Batman. Can only be a creative or budget decision.

Her and the Inquisitors could be entirely removed from the show. Just pointless.
Instead of 6 episodes, maybe they should have made a streamlined 2, 1 hour long episodes.

Pretty much my thoughts, I think we could bring this down to 2 1/2 hours-3 hours, cut the Inquisitor sub plot, use them as early foils for Obi-Wan and that is really it. I think the series will work better if you can watch them all through one sitting, but the character of Reva is a disaster and should of been done with in Episode 5, or not exist at all. This series has some great moments, can't deny that, there is just some crap you have to dig around to get to it.

Also agree with the sets at times looking really bad and can take you out of the scene.

The final duel was amazing, Hayden and JEJ voices being combined together after Obi-Wan damages his helmet was horrifying and awesome at the same time. The smirk he gives Obi-Wan when he tells him he killed Anakin was so damn evil and I loved it.

I think I find this series more frustrating than anything else.
I feel sorry for Ewan and Hayden. I'm not sure scarred is the right word but I think they both probably felt quite frustrated and upset at the reception the PT got.
And here we are, Ewans back and his show is getting crapped on again.
Not Ewans fault, he's one of the best things in the show, but it's constantly being let down by part of the story not working here, a bit of dialogue was bad there.
That action scene was badly directed, or light choice for this scene was the wrong choice.
That character is pointless, or that set looks cheap (most of the sets to be fair)
That what just happened? Incredibly dumb or what just happened makes a mess of something done or said in ANH
Etc etc etc.
There's good stuff here, for example Ewan or I know some people loved how they handled Vader, it's just buried under a mountain of issues.
Issues with story, script, direction, characters, acting, sets and action.

This episode started badly for me. I just can't get over how Reva got back to Tatooine. She could barely crawl at the end of the last episode. A lot of logical stuff here is broken.

There's also a starship chase to rival that of TLJ. :lol

It all pulled through IMO towards the end though. Vader and Kenobi's final conversation was good. Canon was not broken.
Yes, that was quite annoying. She was left severely injured in a desolate area on a distant planet with (presumably) no spacecraft. She did have Obi-Wan's communicator which in theory she could have used to send out an S.O.S., but she couldn't exactly call the Empire at that point. I guess she could have sent out some kind of local signal and then ambushed whoever came to help but seriously WTF, if it's key to the conclusion of the story arc of one of your major characters (like it or not), take a couple of minutes and show your audience!

I think a lot of the shortcomings come down to this show being rushed. I don't even think this is the show McGregor signed on for since KK had the whole thing rewritten.
They secured McGregor, the kinda famous Owen guy, JEJ, Christensen, Jimmy Smits, Spoilerperson, etc....then they have shots that look unfinished & shaky cam to try to disguise weak choreography & fewer camera setups. Teeth of Boba Fett looks 10x better than this and it's about a fat guy who learns he's no good at management. :dunno

This should have been the new high water mark.

I still feel kinda of lied to with how much they hyped up Hayden returning, having him on the press tour and everything and making it out to be this huge return and then he gets like 2 speaking scences.

Ice Cube Jr, Reva, Tala and even all the other bloody Inquisitors had more screentime than Hayden did.

Also, since they decided to end on Kenobi moving out of his cave & then his surprise meeting along the way, HUGE missed opportunity not setting the end credits to either The Jeffersons or Odd Couple theme songs.

This finale really sums up how pointless Reva was a character and plot point.

Disney clearly inserted this character into what could have been a 2 hour "memba-berries" theatrical release as part of their government funded "Increase Diversity" program.

The fact that Hasbro was also forced to reveal three figures of her at once (Black Series, Vintage Collection, Retro Collection) just further proves this television program only existed as a way to cram this character down our throats.

It won't work though. I predict those figures will be all time record-holders for peg-warmers. We're gonna see empty SW sections with nothing but solid pegs full of Reva for the next five years, at least until Hasbro just bites the bullet and has them all recalled and destroyed like they did with all the unsold Rose Tico figures.

Obviously, I didn't like this show, not only cause I hate everything, but cause I insisted from the start that none of this ever happened and was a giant waste of everyone's time.

The only things I liked were the first few minutes of the first episode that shows Obi Wan's sad, lonely life on Tattooine, cutting desert sushi and going home to crappy microwave food. That felt right, cause it's exactly what he should have been doing for 20 years, but obviously there's no need to make a TV show or movie out of that.

The only other part I enjoyed was the few minutes with Anakins face peeking out of the mask. (Didn't care about the fight....zero tension, zero stakes.....yawn. Lightsaber fights are SO 1999....the Prequels ruined any fun or intrigue of seeing lightsabers. Haven't enjoyed a saber fight since Dooku vs Anakin/Obi Wan.)

But seeing Hayden, seeing Ewan's horrified reaction.....that was a good scene. Really good. In my world, none of it ever happened, but that was a nice tiny moment.

The rest of the episode, the rest of the series, was pure excrement.

Besides what others have mentioned, I really enjoyed the last scene between Obi-Wan and Leia. It was a touching goodbye, made all the better by Ewan continuing to absolutely crush it with just about everything he does acting-wise. And little Vivien holds her own in the scene, just as she did throughout the entire series.

So is this your way of saying you're really looking forward to Reva showing up on Andor as Saw Gerrera's girlfriend and second in command? I can already envision her combat training sessions with a young Jyn Erso. :yess:

Ty for the heads-up. I. DONT. WATCH. ENTERTAINMENT. TO. BE. PREACHED. AT. in any respect, not about religion and not about various social issues! This is a really big problem nowadays.

They're not preaching at all in Ms. Marvel. They do have scenes in a mosque and (obviously) represent the Pakistani culture, but I wouldn't say there's any "preaching" involved. It's used to show some of the challenges that faces Kamala, both within her family and culture overall. It's not like Disney is trying to glorify religion and encourage everyone to become Muslims. :lol

They'll probably have Whoopi Goldberg play Old Reva in whatever the next Rey movie will be.

Rey and Reva. My two favoritest SW characters of all time. Wow, can you imagine them TOGETHER in a MOVIE???

They'll have to make something bigger than IMAX cause that's like seriously the biggest event in cinema history. No screen is big enough to even possibly contain that kind of excitement!!

My only problem now is...who do I love more? Rey or Reva?? It's tough.

I'm just glad Reva's costume is so similar to Kylo's. I can have my tattoo artist easily change Kylo to Reva on my all-over back tattoo of Kylo and Rey.

It really was unfortunate that Carrie and Alec weren’t in any scenes together other than the infamous hologram moment in ANH . It just needed that one scene too justify the relationship we saw in this series ..Oh well, I’m sure Lucas never thought of it being important at the time

How much do you think they paid
Liam to appear for a few minutes..the man’s schedule probably was incredibly tight
:lol

I’ll say it again…Alderaan is a beautiful planet ..it’s a damn shame Lucas didn’t showcase it in ANH:thud:

Saw the finale. It was an ok duel scene, though everything is a bit too dark IMO. had it been in some cool background setting, it would add more to the final duel scene. Everything feel kinda under a certain budget and doesn’t feel like its a disney project.
