its almost like eps 9, dark setting with flying floating objects and them hurling at one another with that super force power thing. call me an old head, but i like the more traditional saber duel of eps 5, 6 and even anakin vs dooku. where they dont use too much of those thingsI thought the finale was good, not great, but good. I think McGregor did a great job and I really liked the duel between him and Vader.
Same here. The "final" fight was cool. I always feel sorry for Vader once he starts whistling and struggling to breath. No matter how many bad things he does, that whistling sounds starts, and I'm like... ROTJ flashbacks I guess.
For the effects and graphics for sure …but it will suffer in the acting..At this point Disney should redo episodes 4,5, and 6 and just make it a new timeline. Update the story to connect with the prequels and the sequels. I already separate the old movies from the PT and all this other stuff. I enjoy the new stuff but its so different than the OT.
I agree the magic wouldnt be there but it hasnt been there for the PT or the ST or anything else but at least wed get a more cohesive story line and a better final Dath/Obi wan duelFor the effects and graphics for sure …but it will suffer in the acting..
The trio can never be duplicated
There will never be a Han Solo like Harrison and when you think OT..you think Han
A new OT will never capture the magic of the original…never
The only things I liked were the first few minutes of the first episode that shows Obi Wan's sad, lonely life on Tattooine, cutting desert sushi and going home to crappy microwave food. That felt right, cause it's exactly what he should have been doing for 20 years, but obviously there's no need to make a TV show or movie out of that.
The only other part I enjoyed was the few minutes with Anakins face peeking out of the mask. (Didn't care about the fight....zero tension, zero stakes.....yawn. Lightsaber fights are SO 1999....the Prequels ruined any fun or intrigue of seeing lightsabers. Haven't enjoyed a saber fight since Dooku vs Anakin/Obi Wan.)
But seeing Hayden, seeing Ewan's horrified reaction.....that was a good scene. Really good. In my world, none of it ever happened, but that was a nice tiny moment.
The rest of the episode, the rest of the series, was pure excrement.
Yeah. Alongside the cheapness and bad directing, the other major issue I had was the story. It just wasn't a story I had any interest in.
Rescuing Leia, the Inquisitors. Don't care.
I understand why they went with PTSD Obi-Wan and his rustiness etc, it just wasn't something I was particularly interested in seeing.
He obviously gets his edge back, his mojo, in this final episode.
We had 5 episodes of bumbling Kenobi, I assume in the final he becomes the Kenobi we know.
How does that happen? Does he have a moment, a sudden epiphany and suddenly he's competent again?
Safest way is direct to streaming..don’t risk it in theatersI agree the magic wouldnt be there but it hasnt been there for the PT or the ST or anything else but at least wed get a more cohesive story line and a better final Dath/Obi wan duel
Tatooine is a hell of a drug.
Oh, someone's already stuffing her into the Ahsoka show - I can already write the script, where the ever-kindly Ahsoka talks about her love for Anakin and how great he was; shows Reva THE GIRLPOWER WAY, and we get a lot of lightsaber twirling....the only question is what color Reva's new lightsaber will be.Loved the last episode. The best duels always have emotional stakes to them and this was a great example of that. Though it ended up being very similar to the Ahsoka/Vader fight in Rebels. Would probably have been even better to someone who hasn't seen Rebels.
Owen and Beru were badass.
Wonder if we'll see Reva show up in one of the Mando shows somehow.
If they do make a season 2, it should tie into the Clone Wars somehow so we can get flashbacks to them fighting together and get Ahsoka.
Honestly, a season 2 wouldn't even need Vader.
How much do you think they paidLiam to appear for a few minutes..the man’s schedule probably was incredibly tight
Worth every penny, Qui-Gon is a favorite of mine.
