The current Entertainment Weekly article that accompanies the cover shot and new pics says this about the character:

As the force-sensitive Inquisitor Reva, Moses Ingram will prove a formidable new foe as she seeks out Jedi-in-hiding for the Empire. Director Deborah Chow and writer Joby Harold describe the character as ruthlessly ambitious.

And ...

"They share a common dark-side goal," Ingram says about the villainous trio of Reva, the Grand Inquisitor, and Darth Vader. "They're on the same team." As for what stands out most to Ingram about her big bad: "It's all heart."

Fantastic, another actor/actress that doesn't want to wear the required uniform of the character they are supposed to be playing.

Well, there it is. I stand corrected.

I have no idea why her uniform is different to other Inquisitors though.

I may be acting too nit-picky here, and fulfilling the stereotypical "sci-fi geek obsessed with detail and accuracy" persona. But it just seems like such an obvious part of the uniform to include and an easy to one to recreate. I am genuinely baffled as to why those markings are not on her uniform. Hopefully there will be something in the show that explains it. If there isn't, it will genuinely irritate me haha. Perhaps an irrational response, but they don't calls us fanatics for nothing.

It would be like suddenly deciding that Vader will not have his control unit on his chest for this show. Why?

Maybe not exactly the same, but hopefully people get my point!

No wait, they're all aliens. Uh... The Grand Inquisitor is grey, close enough!

Anyway, the costume is underwhelming. I was never going to drop HT cash on a random actor playing a random role (I'm not getting any Cad Banes or whatever is my point), but they couldn't even get the basics right. If the leaks I've read are accurate, the only figures I would potentially buy will come from the PT/CW Flashbacks. I'm not dropping 300€ on Hobo-Wan and Random Bargain Bin Inquisitor. She'll most probably die anyhow, she was nowhere to be seen in the Rebels era with the other Inquisitors. She looks boring though. The others were aliens or had cool helmets. This is just a nobody with a shoddy all-black suit. At least the Grand Inquisitor had a personality in the comics and his design is cool.

I doubt I'll have the money left over with everything else, but he could make for a cool figure. I'm not going to drop spoilers, real or not, but beyond some ROTS/CW reissues/flashbacks, plus a Vader and Hobo-Wan, I wouldn't expect more. Apparently the original script featured A'sharad Hett, or more commonly known as the guy who'd go on to become Darth Krayt.

But apparently Kennedy didn't like it and thus the rewrites happened. Could be ********, but rewrites were confirmed. Now it's much more by-the-numbers, with Vader being essentially the big bad. We'll get Hobo-Wan, Vader, Cody, and then any combination of ROTS Anakin/Obi-Wan and Generals Skywalker/Kenobi. I don't think more are likely. There were some rumours of a Palpatine involvement, but dunno.

Y'all really don't like POC being cast in main roles, do you? I swear any time a movie/show has a black or asian person in it then it immediately gets **** on here for being "woke". Aliens are cool and believable but your immersion is suddenly shattered at the sight of a black person. You must have **** your pants when you first watched Empire Strikes Back.

If the actors/actresses do a good job then who gives a ****. We've seen 3 pictures of her. Whilst studios do love to check the diversity box it's also possible that the casting division know what they are doing and just pick the best person for the role. It's not like this is a previously white character being race swapped, it's a minor character that's been mentioned like once in an encyclopedia.

Indeed.
These days, yes, the old "are they just ticking the diversity box" is a thing but it makes perfect sense that people in the Star Wars galaxy are diverse. The OT was a different era but it'd be weird if a modern Star Wars show/movie didn't have any non white characters in it.
Both The Mandalorian and BoBF had diverse casts. So did Rogue One and the (spits on floor) ST.
Of course, they might end up making this new Inquisitor OP and have her kick Obi's arse etc but benefit of the doubt, not going to jump to conclusions there.
No, for me it's only when they make race swaps for the sake of it that annoys me like making Anne Boleyn black for example.
The race of the characters is the least of my concerns for this show.

There's definitely a knee-jerk reaction on these boards. That said, Disney's marketing weasels and hack writers are pretty transparent in their insincerity and 2-dimensional thinking so at this point it's all just noise from what at times feels like an artificial culture war.

I have no further faith or trust in Disney's anything-division, but I hear you.

For instance, I just don't care if Mary Jane's a redhead or not; but I also don't need to hear Falcon giving a cringe-worthy lecture to the establishment while holding up a murdering terrorist as 'misunderstood' so ... our problem across the board (THE board, not specifically THIS board) is lack of nuance.

When I first saw Lando, I didn’t **** my pants. It was when he proceeded to kiss Leia’s hand, THAT’S what made me have an involuntary bowel movement.

In all seriousness though this is a “first look” at a new series. This imperial chick has as many first look pics as the title character. That’s pretty odd. Also, I’m not a fan of the Empire having females in their ranks, never have. It’s stupid. For me the soldiers, pilots, officers, etc. will always be smug british white guys.

Trailer with Duel of the Fates and Battle Of the heroes is awesome.
