Jokes on us. Obi-Wan spends 50% of the show asleep in a Bacta tank dreaming about the time he befriended a tribe of Jawas, only for 2 episodes to focus entirely on Darth Maul, then a small group of teen podracers dressed like hippies show up to help protect their town, while a child Luke randomly shows up to use the Force and save them.

… I jest, but if any one of these happens, I’m going to die laughing.

Fixed.

What character is the new Star Wars Catwoman playing? Does she work for the empire? Is she some sort of jedi hunter or something. She is wearing black with little lights on her belt so I guess she goes to the same tailor as Vader but she looks like she belongs in the sequel trilogy? She looks a bit worried and not mean like your typical baddie. She reminds me of Fennec Shand... hopefully this is not Boba show 2.0

Inquisitor Zzz Zzz

I don't think she's an Inquisitor, as she doesn't appear to have any Imperial markings on her uniform? Inquisitors have Imperial marking on their shoulders, etc. Inquisitors are also known to wear helmets/masks.

She might just be a local b*tch who gives Obi-Wan grief.

I have a bad feeling about this...

It is a bit disconcerting that she is more or less sharing all of the promotional imagery with the titular character... I hope she isn't going to be the focus. I miss the days of British sounding imperial officers with storm troopers, like in the OT. I was kind of hoping that Vader might be doing the jedi hunting and that he might be the other focus .due to their shared history not newbie fennec.

At least we get to see the return of AJP's avatar in 'live action'.

I dunno...she looks very Inquisitor-y minus the markings.

I hope she's not trying to be stealthy with blinking LEDs on her outfit.

Couldn't be worse...right?

What becomes an interesting subtext to this new Obi Wan series is the possible redemption arc of Hayden Christensen.

I don't think he's a very good actor, but I want to be fair and say those prequel scripts did him zero favors. And it didn't help that Natalie Portman has the acting range of a half wounded wood chuck and couldn't carry him.

I do think it would be cool if older Anakin, Jar Jar Binks and flashbacks to Jake Lloyd could have sort of a reboot with more Favreau/Filoni/Rogue One type story telling. I'd like to see Ahmed Best get a different path to showing something interesting to Jar Jar Binks other than being a punching bag for Star Wars fandom.

Years ago, there was a series of shorts for Halo called Forward Unto Dawn. The cast was mostly no names and it was an incredible piece of storytelling for what was clearly a very limited budget. Sometimes I think the massive budgets and the ability to pick and choose casting from anywhere sort of works against Star Wars at times.

A tight compact story that focuses on character development with good writing can draw in an audience just as well as some grand visual spectacle. There are so many examples of "prestige" type productions that don't rely on woke nor intentionally attempting to incite your fan base with cheap shock marketing - Midnight Mass, The Great, Arcane, etc.

I would have been happy with Boyega as a Stormtrooper who joined the Empire to just escape poverty on his planet ( mirrors what happens to so many in real life) and having Adam Driver and Oscar Issac and Domhnall Gleeson ( all good solid actors) as part of his squad with Brienne of Tarth as the hard core leader in Phasma. And give Kelly Marie Tran a part where fandom doesn't want to terrorize her.

A great story doesn't need to be a big story. Midnight Mass as a whole probably costed 1/10th of one episode of The Mandalorian to make and that show just crawled right down deep into you.

Oh I definitely agree she looks very much like an Inquisitor. But it seems like a huge oversight to not include any Imperial markings when that is a distinct part of the uniform;

Unless there is some specific/story reason why this Inquisitor does not wear the Imperial markings?
