Just finished the game. What an AMAZING and emotional ride this was! IGN are idiots to have a reviewer who doesn't like these type of games write their review.

Because honestly if you liked Heavy Rain you will like this game. The gameplay is more refined than Heavy Rain. And the story and it's characters are all endearing. This really is meant to be an experience.

And what's more is the ending was very long and satisfying. I kept wondering when it would end and show the credits. There was a lot of end scenes that wrapped up the story nicely. And that was only one of the possible endings!!!

Slightly unrelated, but the writers of Dexter need to play this game to see the proper way to wrap up a story.

9.8/10 from me.

Interesting. I didn't like the 3rd act twists in Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain but you make it sound like B2S is amazingly engaging and has a satisfying payoff. Will look forward to this.

There are twists in this game as well. But I liked them. There's one in particular that is flat out awesome. But I wont spoil that for you. I found B2S HIGHLY engaging.

This is the flat out awesome twist near the end of the game. Only read if you've beaten the game, or want to get spoiled:

Finding out that Aiden is actually your twin brother

Also this is the ending I chose:

I choose to live and be with Ryan. I figured she'd lose Aiden and get to live a normal life. Ryan seemed like the best choice and the person she had the most chemistry with. Even though what he did to her was a d!** move I suppose he was just following orders. I also didn't want her to be alone especially without Aiden.

Before the very end I somehow knew Aiden would do one last thing to show Jodie that he was still there for her. So I called that part.

I beat it last night and it was a hellva experience. I didn't expect to be so many heartbreaking scenes in the game. My girlfriend was watching me play it and she said she actually prefers B2S over TLOU for the fact it made her cry more :lol

6/10 is absolutely ridiculious by IGN. IMO is deserves a solid 8.5 or maybe a 9. Although I still have a soft spot for TLOU over this.

I also chose the same ending as you. And at least by that one scene with the choices, there is at least 4 alternate endings altogether but who knows. Heavy Rain had a good dozen IIRC.

Anyway, if you loved Heavy Rain you'll love this. It's the best graphics of this generation definitely and the acting is far better than anything in Heavy Rain.

I couldn't agree with you more! It was a VERY memorable experience and I look forward to QD's next gen title whatever that is. Also I didn't expect:

The game to have bits that were kinda scary. In the dispenser stage,or whatever it's called, the people getting possesed by the evil entities and the way their heads would shake were creepy.... Then later on when we saw Nate's wife and daughter all bloodied up gave me a strong "Sixth Sense" vibe. Haunted was a spooky chapter where you followed his wifes ghost/entity. Very thrilling!!!

It was very Sixth Sense with Nathan's wife. It was very touching to find out Aiden was Jodie's twin. I love at the end that he's still there.

I got an extended weekend this week so I'll try to mess with the last part of it to see the alternate endings. I think most people went with the choice you and me made first.

I'm a huge fan of Naughty Dog but I still haven't even purchased TLOU. Since I just planned to get the regular edition , I figured I could till when it comes down in price. I'm a sucker for steelbooks though so I didn't want to wait on Beyond and risk getting stuck with the regular plastic case.

So I can't really compare the two yet since I've only experienced one.

My only problems with the game is that the beginning was a little too fast and it took a while to start to get a narrative and emotional connection going. I had originally thought that Dafoe was wasted in this game since he was barely in it, until the end that is. The story is very out there and almost unbelievable but it doesn't bug me enough to not enjoy it.

I actually liked the
Condencers that are holes into the Infraworld. Black Sun was an excellent end to the game.

TLOU is superb and I extremely recommend it. B2S and TLOU are the two greatest games of this generation by far.

I'm going to head off to bed for now but I'll say one last thing before I do:

I have to give the game massive credit for this. With the type of game Beyond is, being a interacting cutscene/movie type game, I would never expect them to tackle a warzone type chapter.

I mean, how can they take the gameplay of Beyond/Heavy Rain and make it successful in a Call of Duty type location!!! How can they handle the stealth successfully?! I would have never expected it to work, but IMO they suceeded. They've got guts!

Yeah it definitely was multiple games rolled into one.

I didn't expect this to have to deal with the afterlife as much as it did. I still can't believe how amazing Black Sun was as a chapter, running toward the Condenser and seeing all the souls as you run past them. Seeing Nathan reunited with his family was touching, although him saying "do it for me" kinda made me mad since he's the one that caused the barrier to go down.

I just made a TLOU social group recently, so I decided to do one for Quantic Dream since I didn't want to do just one for B2S since I love Heavy Rain so much.

Yeah Condencers ... Lol, what did I call it,....... dispensers,...lol. [/ SPOILER]

I found a connection to the characters very early on. Especially to Jodie and Cole. I don't know about you but I really liked Cole. He just came across as a really genuine and nice guy.

Got it to work. Ok last thing for the night.

I was a little surprised when we found out about the evil entity terrorizing the Navajos. I guess because I was expecting the game to be focused more on Aiden that when they introduced the other entities, especially the desert one, it kind of took me back by surprise and came off as a bit silly to me.

But it actually works and makes sense in the story as a whole. One of the reasons I loved Heavy Rain was because it was grounded in reality and I found it refreshing that I could actually spend time shaving and brushing my teeth as opposed to blasting aliens or dealing with magic like the other 95% of games have you do.

So when I found out about Aiden and the superatural aspect I was kind of like, meh... Only to find out while playing he's one of many entities in existence and there's a Department of Paranormal Activity that is trying to open a link to a place called the infraworld.

But you know what, it ended up working just fine.

This game is amazing. IGN score is garbage. They have no idea what they're talking about.

i'm still playing through it and so far the only Chapter that i really disliked is "Welcome to the CIA"
