Well the glasses appear to have been improved a bit from the first version, so I think I'll probably keep those on him to help cover up the blank, zoned out expression a bit.

The coat looks sharper too. The screen coat had very square, boxy shoulders which the first Ten figure didn't really capture; the one on the blue suit looks more like it.

I keep looking at that photo above... and while it is clearly a brilliant sculpt and paint job I'm just not feeling the expression at all, it's way too neutral. But that said I think the first Ten sculpt has definitely had its day now after the new Eleven, which I think has been a real game changer in terms of head quality.

What would sway me to buy this is if the Tennant head that is supposed to be coming with the Eccleston figure has some character as well as being a great likeness - maybe if there's the ghost of a smile. Then I could stick this on a spacesuit Ten and use the next Tennant head for the blue suit.
Tennant head with Eccleston?

The question is which 8th do we want? I would have always thought the TV movie version before, but now I'd kinda prefer him in his cool mini-episode costume instead...

I don't mind to be honest; I just hope we get a version of each Doctor over the next few years then maybe BCS could offer costume variants or collectors could kitbash their own.

Doesn't matter. They've now hid Bad Wolf in 3 press releases; written on the box of the 11 shipment, the shipment announcement was signed Bad Wolf, and now this. They say they have a convention exclusive coming up, and it will be extremely limited. This is quite literally an additional 100 items to the production line with a two word tampo on it. It is an easy way to pull an exclusive in line with their existing production schedule. Plus it would fittingly ship around the time Tennant will be.

A Bad Wolf TARDIS would be interesting! Maybe the first few off the assembly line and air shipped in? The rest aren't due for quite a while, though. Intriguing.

This figure is starting to look brilliant. I didn't like the promo pics and the SDCC pics had him wearing the glasses so it was hard to see how good the sculpt and paint job looked. However, the latest photos capture not only the likeness but the character of Ten from Season 4/ The Specials - the Time Lord Victorious, older, wiser, wounded and dangerous. Still don't like the red shirt, but I can't wait for this now.

The coat looks better there buts still a bit too bulky. Maybe with some fussing it will look better in person? The rest of the figure looks great, can't wait to add him to the collection.

I think its better than the first release but I agree it's still too bulky... but that said, I don't wish to sound too critical of either this coat or the first one. Hard to think of many people who could make a coat like this, with suede like material and a lining, look good over a shirt and suit jacket. The suit material would need to be thinner and then the coat material too - you'd need to be Kato to make it look screen accurate basically. The one thing I would have liked to see is slightly squarer, boxier shoulders, maybe using shoulder pads...?

So yeah, room for improvement but kudos for what we've got.

Coats are generally BCS's weak spot - with Sherlock being the worst - but I thought Hartnell's coat was excellent. I've recently been posing the first Ten with his coat - previously I just had him in his suit - and you can get some really dynamic poses using the wire in the hem.

Yeah the figure does look really great there. I wasn't crazy about the spiky hair at first, but I've grown to like it a lot more since then.

I do wish they had created something better for the base this time though. To put him in any kind of wide action stance you have to balance him on the edges, when can be a little bit precarious. :p

:exactly: I think so too... still I'll be displaying this one without the coat. :)

Well made my last payment yesterday. I hope it releases earlier than expected. Really excited for this figure since I missed out on the first version twice for lack of information because I didnt know they had payment plans at that time.
