I don't know why I had to look it up, but I did. Probably because I have nothing better to do at the moment than wait for my dinner. :lol

HMRC doth say,

If you sell goods or services to someone who isn't VAT registered in another EU country, you must charge VAT in the normal way - just as you would for a UK customer.

So, sounds as though you got off lightly, Xenophilius.

It should have been charged at checkout. Does it calculate it from your shipping address?

I think BCS might be a bit confused themselves as, for the Sherlock figs, they say "Non-UK and EU customers will be charged the ex-tax price." By which they must mean anyone outside the UK/EU is VAT exempt.

However, for the 4th Doctor, it says "Non-UK customers will be charged the ex-tax price", so that includes anyone else in the EU.

So we have the The 5th estate, the autographed Sherlock figures, the third season of the series coming, and it's just taken me until now to realise that he was in The Hobbit movies. :slap

The one I really want to see is "12 Years As A Slave" Just look at that cast!

Have you seen him in Starter for Ten? First thing I saw him in and he didn't make a huge impression. It is a pleasant enough, gentle comedy with some memorable moments. Mark Gatiss in there as Bamber.

Wonderful low key movie from 2006 I think and look at the cast now: James McAvoy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, Rebecca Hall, Dominic Cooper, James Corden ....and Mark Gatiss. All heading for 'A' list if not already there.

Didn't do anything to propel Mr Cucumberpatch towards his current position as international sex symbol, though. Definitely not one for the Cumber*****es.

But, yes, a pleasant enough film, of the undemanding-but-not insulting-to-the-intelligence type we seem to be good at.

ETA: LOL at censoring Cumberbeaches.
