Even if you are right, why didn't the driver just stop, get out of the car, and flip his sh-i-t about the bike stopping in front if him. Why be a total a$$hole and run over all those bikes and potentially harm many more people and make the situation far worse than it had to be. That being said, the bikers didn't have to resort to bashing in the drivers side window either.
That only works with normal, very reasonable people. People who like to do dangerous stunts on bikes for thrills aren't normal in the head. They are easily excitable and have shorter fuses compared to most people. That is how thrill seekers are.
One thing we couldn't see, that the driver of the SUV could see, was the look on the rider's faces. They probably looked very angry, after one of them got hit by the SUV, on TOP of the fact that the cops shut down their big annual meet earlier that day.
Those riders were ready to explode at the slightest problem or confrontation.
Good luck having a calm conversation without any violence with people with that mentality in that mental state.
You seem to assume that those were all normal people who are normal and reasonable in their thinking and can be calm during conflicts.
They aren't. They are thrill seekers. Thrill seekers have short fuses as a group. Mob mentality is bad enough with normally reasonable people, but with people like that, it's bound to be much much worse.
I'll bet that if you saw the rider's faces up close like the driver did, you would be scared enough to go.
Really, woe to you if you try your "lets have some tea and crumpets and talk this over like gentlemen approach" in such a situation and not basically be beaten to a pulp.
