Re: Bikers chase down family in SUV in Ney York

When you live in a place like L.A. you have a plan. I always make sure I leave space to escape when in bad neighborhoods. And yes I have had to use my plan.

That's a rather sad state to be in. I am thankful to be where I am. I never have that kind of mentality here. Don't get me wrong, Canada is far from perfect and the safest place, but sounds a heck of a lot safer than some of the areas you been in. :thud:

Valfar (did he get permanently banned?) used to tell us about some neighborhoods in Canada that didn't sound any better than some in LA, NYC or Detroit.

Depends.. I mean there are some bad suburbs, but nothing compared to the places you speak of. Right, I forgot... Valfar is the begin and end all when it comes to all things Canada.... Look at our homicide rate and compare it to yours per capita, it's not close. Having said that, crime is rising and more guns are getting through the borders. But yes, I feel safer in our bad neighbourhoods than yours. Then again, I wouldn't be on Ferbie past 9 PM in my city. lol

Valfar should be back, NHL season starts tomorrow.

Valfar is from Toronto so .......... :lol The 3rd largest city in North America.

More population = more trouble and more Somalians LOL.

I'm gonna be infracted now ain't I? :(

I hate Bikers. Ever since American Chopper and Wild Hogs, every ********* has a bike.

Everyone with a Harley has to wear jeans and a Harley Shirt. They always gotta dress up like its Halloween. "Today I'm a cool Biker with a Vest and a Harley Shirt" So gay.

The problem with not reading the thread before posting, is you wind up looking like Ace Ventura, talking out your buttcheeks. They weren't bikers. :nono

The South Africans have the right idea:

HOLY CRAP! I am pretty damned sure that this is the most awesome crime deterrent device I have ever seen.

Can you just imagine looking at the face of a would be carjacker as you hit the flame-thrower button?

Imagine his badass face turning to roasted ***** face.

I'll take five, please. I have two cars and I want to put one on each of my kids' bikes.

I didn't watch the video, but in this situation, sounds like the man should have feared for his families life and prolly did. In that case, he should've just rammed the crap out of them. An SUV against motorcycles......no chance. I don't know whose worse between street bikers or people who have those raised monster trucks that drive like they are in sports cars.

Yes but there are times for work I had to drive in to the WORST parts of LA. These are the parts where I have cops escort lost tourist out because they shouldn't be there. Parts where you might see a kid on the corner ( next to a Police Station) with a gun.

In some ways I am glad I know how to react in a bad situation. It makes life a lil easier IMO. I have traveled all over the world for work and vacation and I think knowing how to handle youself in less than desirable situations has be very helpful I have yet to find myself in a situation where I felt scared or taken advantage of and I think it has a lot to do with having grown up where I did.

Too bad he wasn't driving one of these.

Why? So he could scare them away with the loud banging noise he makes trying in vain to get the gun to aim down? :cuckoo: :lol

Considering the height of the vertical pivot of the mount, it should have no problem shooting anything three feet off the ground at two feet from the vehicle and shoot at the ground at five feet from the vehicle from the sides and the back.

Oh I get it, but it doesn't mean you would have faired much better. And I would totally be okay turning those guys into soup. Totally believe in better them than you mentality. If a person is attacking you and you're in a tight spot, with no way out, and all you got is yourself, well, you gotta do what you gotta do. No matter the outcome. Doesn't look good either way. Might as well go out pulling punches. Looks like the guy was gonna get it no matter what he did. If he stopped and did nothing or had he done what he did. Again, it is tough when you have a wife and kid in the vehicle with you and everything is going on so fast... Lets face it, we would all be scared ****.

whats your beef with Voorhees anyway? lol :lol

Seems like you just wanted to start something

Also, about the article:

Sources said the injured biker was being prepped for surgery Monday night, and doctors feared he might be left a paraplegic.

What about caltrops?

They have the advantage of being able to immediately disable tires, whereas it's conceivable that the rider could control the bike through the oil. Their big disadvantage is that unless you have hundreds of them, they don't cover the road as thoroughly as oil.

Flammable oil slick would be best. Or exploding caltrops. Or miniature magnetic mines. Or an SUV used as a battering ram (the only drawback being that the driver could have an unhealthy respect for life, to the point that he couldn't bear to kill people who threatened his family).

Myself, I'd go with the last option. My respect for life stops at the safety of my loved ones.
