I just made my way to Siren's Alley. I was a little skeptical of this game at first - didn't really love the idea of being a Big Daddy and having to protect the little Sisters (I suck when it comes to being defensive :lol) - but this game has won me over. :D

Did anyone play the game on Hard difficulty right off the bat? Man, the Big Sister battles are tough. Her melée attack pretty much destroys my life bar in one hit, almost killing me. Maybe I shoulda played through on Normal first....nah, this is more fulfilling. :lol

I'm not sure how I feel about the game versus the first one just yet. It doesn't disappoint though, generally.
I always start playing games on the hardest difficulty, this was noo walk in the park! :lol By the end of the game though I had enough plasmids and gene tonics that made the fights a bit easier.

Completed this in 3 sittings. Was good
fun but it seemed so watered down. First one had more plasmid based puzzles, bigger environments, better more indepth upgrades and a much better twisting story. I'm a bit dissapointed
Are you serious? The maps on this are huge, it was very easy to get lost or miss something.

I went to Micheal's yesterday and got some pretty nice 11x14 frames for $5.99 a piece. I also got an album frame for $12.99. I'm trying to get a nice album frame where you can display both the record and the jacket. Micheal's have one but it's cheap looking. I'm gonna track one down that looks like the kind they present to recording artists when their albums go platinum.

Very nice Frity!! :clap

I went back and played the original game and the graphics on 2 are actually alot better. However the levels are much more open and varied in the first one.

The combat is much improved in 2 but the overall experience was lacking. Story didn't grab me at all and I was expecting a big twist. It never came.

Did we play the same game? :lol The story was fantastic! They took what made the first game and bumped it up a notch.

Really? I thought it was pretty boring and the ending was pretty lame too. I expected thier to be massive revelationad there wasn't one. Also you're characters back story is hinted and never explained. And WTF happened to tannenbaum? It felt so rushed

What do you mean never explained? Maybe you didn't find enough Vox-Boxes?

You were one of the first Big Daddies to have the protector bond, your little sister was Eleanor. You weren't selected by volunteer, you were a prisoner as all the Big Daddies were, given to the program by Sinclair. You killed Dr. Suchong when he tested the bond. Lamb found out her daughter was taken for the program and tracked her down killing you. Eleanor kept some of your DNA, either from her doll or your blood and revived you in a vita chamber 10 years later. There are other little details out there as well.

I dunno about you, but I searched every square inch of Rapture and got all the story I could. It was definately just as good as the first game, and I love the first story and characters like Fontaine and Ryan are epic as far as a video game character goes, but this was no let down.

Its just alot more quickly paced so it doesn't feel as cinematic as the first game but with all that action, your also getting plenty of backstory.

Finally what happened to Tennebaum in the first game? You just escape with her Sisters and shes no where to be found. But she stated she was back in this game which ment she left and went topside, and when she heard the rumors of girls dissapearing(the viral marketing) she knew what it was and returned. She can definately take care of herself.

There was nothing about this game that was boring. Hell, I've played through it twice already for what its worth as I know a couple others in my gaming group have too. Thats not to say its easy but fun and addicting is the actual case here. I agree with Deckard I think the revelation is brought through finding the audio boxes. If you didn't search to find them and other items then you don't get the game. Thats part of what makes it fun. You have to search everyplace you can to flesh out the story and make the game what it is. If you don't then it might be boring and no back story. Sounds like the Bioshock series isn't your thing.

I collected all audio tapes and I never said the gameplay wasn't fun. I said the story was boring. The first game is in my top 10 games of all time so I'll decide whether the series is for me. Thanks

You found all 125 audio tapes? Then there really shouldn't be any saying that the story was boring. Its all fleshed out there in those tapes if you take the time to listen too them. Well, if the first one is then I'm not sure what you expected with this cause its a repeat of the first just amped a little. Sorry, I really don't think this series is for you. Thanks. :D

I really do think this game is not as good as the first. That's what happens when a cash in sequel is given to a different development team. Thanks

The story may be fleshed out in some regards but that doesn't automatically make it interesting. I actually like how the stories unfold in both games. Just don't like the story itself.

Well, they cashed in pretty well then. At least the folks I've gamed with think so and from the reviews I've read of this seem to think so too. So they did pretty well it seems. Thanks :monkey3

The story is totally fleshed out between what happens with the stuff in the game and the audio tapes. You know exactly whats going on so its a bit more than a little fleshed out. Its as fleshed out as the story in the first game.

I give up. And for your info the game has an average review score of about 85% which is 10% lower than the first. Its still a good average however. I never said the game sucked I'm just saying the story was weaker and hence it was less of an experience. Most reviews have said the same thing. Don't take it personal dude. It's still better than most crap that comes out. Thanks

That is a good average. I didn't say you said anything about the game sucking. I and many at least in my group would disagree with you about the game though. I thought 1 was pretty darn awesome but I did enjoy part two more. Not taking it personal at all. Thanks :monkey3
