I would think so. With Sideshow's inception of the Non-Refundable Deposit, they've worked hard to give collectors more value for ordering the EXs directly from them. Not only are the exclusive editions and regular editions the same price, the EXs now have more extras that come with them. Look at the recent polystone items along the other licenses (Marvel and G.I. Joe, to wit); I don't see why LOTR wouldn't follow suit.

I cant wait to see this thing tomorrow either, really hyped. Im hoping they include an alt head with helmet over a swtich out hand with weapons...or maybe both. They did it with the new Friday the 13th PF, extra head with alt hands holding different weapon. That would make this orc hard to pass up.

I believe that's what they call an understatement. SS replaced the leather of the prototype with pleather, they went with a completely different colour, and not only didn't they weather it much...they didn't weather it at all.

I can't remember, was there ever an "official" response from Sideshow either in the Q&A or Chat?

Based on the preview photo depicting the mallet/hammer in his right hand instead of the short sword of the conceptual drawing I'd say that's a definite yes.

SS was too busy scrambling to replace the pre-prod. gallery photos with the post-prod. photos......can you blame them?

I'm curious if modifying a piece like this, weathering the leather and the armor a bit more to look like the pre-production photos hurts the resale at all. This is a general question of those here that know and follow the statue market better than I. In general do collectors want untouched pieces? I am pretty sure that sealed pieces hold little extra value which likely reflects concern over breakage and no recourse.

In my opinion, a statue that has an obvious issue that is then modified for the better do not lose value.

Depending on who does the modification and how the final product looks, the final price can often be much, much higher.

Really like it. Looks like the mixed media pieces are the cloth tunic and pants. Would have been really cool if the mail skirt was real chain mail as well.

I skipped on the Morgul Lord; were his weapons metal? After the Berserker, I was wondering if Sideshow would be doing metal weapins from now on.

It is SO ON!!!! This mofo looks fantabulous! At least in these pics, it appears to be among the best SS paints apps ever apped upon polystone! I LOVE HIM!!! Yeah, I said it!

Based on the hi-res pic's it looks like the pants [rust-coloured fabric] and leather [protecting the lower torso] qualify as the mixed media aspects.

Yeah, after that whole thing with the Moria Orc's duds, the fear is understandable. I like the pics shown, so I hope the final is as close to them as possible.
