Re: Black Widow Movie

She's an executive producer and does have the power to change the name, especially if she said it publicly which was done to advance this nonsense issue with like minded idiots. It's troubling that such a idiotic nonfan would be in a powerful position that she could corrupt something she didn't create or really care about. Fans need to speak up when something like this is said to ensure that people in control don't mishandle the stories and characters we care about.

What her ignorant fake face fails to realize is that the misogynistic monsters who love the X-Men from the very beginning love the powerful female characters from that very same universe.

What I loved about the X-Men female characters is that they all felt original and well written, I didn't get the same impression from most of the other Marvel or DC female characters except Wonder Woman and maybe Black Widow.

Well Jean Grey remains a core component of one of their most popular stories plus they all had unique and visually interesting powers plus they were all sexy as hell lol

I understand your animosity toward her, but I think you're attributing way too much power/influence to a single EP. She may have floated that idea, but without the backing of Feige and the approval of the Disney BoD there's no way that happens. Disney just spent a ****load on acquiring Fox mainly so they could obtain the exclusive rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four - they're not about to change the name of a such a valued intellectual property as that without a thorough analysis of the financial implications. And they're certainly not going to do so based on the opinion of a single EP.

Re: Black Widow Movie

Mulan release officially put on hold not looking good for BW lol
Thought BW was canceled too?

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of movies (not huge Disney releases) end up debuting on streaming services, if this situation lasts long enough.

Re: Black Widow Movie

Well the 20th Century Fox logo was an icon as old as the X-Men and Disney ditched it for no other reason than their hatred of Fox News. So pettiness and vindictiveness definitely seems to outweigh history and tradition with them.

True, but that's something else entirely. They basically absorbed a competitor. Rarely does the old company's name survive a corporate takeover like that.

Re: Black Widow Movie

Yeah I'm not saying that it's a foregone conclusion that they'll change the name of the X-Men but I wouldn't put it past them either, lol.

I wouldn't say I have animosity towards her, just a whole lot of distrust in her intentions. Maybe a bit of resentment that she has as much influence as she does on Marvel. Changing the name isn't my fear, it's a sign that other things might be changed that shouldn't. There's been a push to radically change things in Marvel Comics to suit some agenda, characters, team dynamics, and story lines that should be left alone. I have misgivings about what Feige and the rest of the powers at Marvel Studios will do in the future. Wait and see what happens at this point.

Re: Black Widow Movie

Isn't she the visual effects guru? Think they just gave her a producer credit since she is the go to for CGI and how they can incorporate it from production to post production. I don't think she is really the producer that is on the narrative side of things.

Well, given some of the less than stellar efforts that have been released lately (Charlie's Angels, Birds Of Prey) that were big on message but lacking in plot, it would be disingenuous to say your concern isn't warranted. But name changes aside, I think part of what has made the MCU successful is their ability to adapt/tweak classic comic story lines so the product on screen (a) isn't completely predictable and (b) is more relevant to the present day. Between that approach and the number of X-Men stories that have already been on the big screen, I think some degree of change is inevitable. That said, I still don't see Feige approving changes that the core X-Men fans would consider "radical".

Re: Black Widow Movie

Wasn't Feige's first act as head of all Marvel properties to approve the current comic storyline where Wolverine and Cyclops have *** on the moon, lol.
