I agree, people who say Scarface is over-rated generally have little appreciation for film making and think it's just another gangsta flick. Or they nitpick Pacino's performance. Or they point to Cuban stereotypes.

Agreed. Great cast of actors and filmakers. However i will say that it's not the best gangster flick. Goodfellas is my personal favorite (yeah thats right, I said Goodfellas was better than Godfather) mostly because of Martin Scorsese as director. You can't go wrong with that man.

On another note, I am tottaly pissed off right now with the guy who sold me the Scarface figure. I paid for it early last week yet he posted today. terrible

^^ Goodfellas, Godfather, I couldn't choose, love both of them film's but either way there both 10/10 films. Shame were still not got any highend 1/6 figures from Goodfellas, well not what I know of anyway. I finally got my Scareface Fri, beautiful figure. Blitzway deserve all the praise there got. Still waiting on there next announcement.

Goodfellas was the most realistic gangster film ever well maybe cause its based on a true story......its class makes me want to watch it, would love to see a 1/6 Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci) make spider dance lol

I've always been indifferent to Goodfellas. Very well-done film that I try to catch when it's on TV, but IMO, it's nowhere near the masterpiece The Godfather is. Or as fun to watch as Scarface. Which makes it kind of a middle of the road film for me.

i love all three films. The GF is amazing the amount of detail that Coppola was able to include from the book is incredible, Brando's performance, the time period, the power The Don wields, its all there. Goodfellas, to me, is another great film which shows us a young man growing up close to a "family" and as a result the benefits that had, and how it eventually corrupts. Scarface shows a completely different type of crime syndicate, it shows, very accurately, the masses of people fleeting cuba, a corrupt police, corrupt banking, decadence, total excess, which is exactly how miami was in the 80's. I love Pacino in it...my GF is hispanic and thought his accent was great (one of the nitpicks I usually hear about), he really fleshed out the character, and some of the little touches like the fact that he genuinely likes children shows a softer side at times. if you get a chance watch cocaine cowboys a documentary on the coke boom of the 80's and its amazing how you see that Scarface was influenced by reality.

Goodfellas is based off a true story though... Godfather and Scarface where not... I like Goodfellas a lot more just because of that fact... IMO... Henry Hill had a hell of a life... IMO... He did some crazy ____... Ive also read the book that Goodfellas is based form Wiseguy a very good book took me a long time to track down a copy of it... That said Godfather is one of the very best... Im glad I was able to get the Don form HT back when he first was released... Scarface has a real shock factor to it that made it good the first time I saw it... The chainsaw in the shower... The shoot out at the club... To the big shoot out at the end...

for me im not sure which is my favorite....at this point it depends on what im in the mood for. after i saw captain america i was in the mood for a mafia movie from the 40's 50's. then there are times that im looking for a more modern mafia movie i.e. goodfellas. if i want the ultimate coke flick with violence i go scarface. its tough for me to say which one is best, they are all so different and excellent in their own regards. from what ive read puzo grew up around "the life" and the scene with johnny fontaine is based on sinatra. in the case of henry hill i too read wiseguy...its a wonderful book, and while the framework is there for the movie i feel its a totally different experience whereas the godfather seems to be more true to the book. basically you cant lose with any of these films and i would love to own any of them in 1/6...that would be amazing to have a Henry, Jimmy, and Tommy in my collection.

Agreed, Godfather is the best gangster/mafia/etc film ever made. Goodfellas being a DAMN close second. Both films are also in my all-time top 5 favs.

Oh yeah!Before i forget THe Godfather Part 2 is hands down the BEST mob movie and then comes The Godfather in a close second with Goodfellas in third.Also,Hot Toys Godfather is ultimate 1/6 figure!Till this day i still haven't gotten a figure that draws so much attention as much as this figure.Truly an EPIC MASTERPIECE!Not even the Enterbay version comes close to reaching the level of detail that Hot Toys has done with the Godfather!I think so anyway!

Don't forget the Casino as well. It may not be the best but its certainly a brilliant film about the mob in las vegas. Has anyone here played Mafia 2? Amazing story, so realistic and emotional.

Casino is a very under rated movie...mafia 2 did great job with the story and they nailed the look of the time.
