Exactly.
And genius work by Arnie Kim (though when it comes to Bruce Lee you can't count on anything else with him).

Is this another "one trick pony" call? The man has one high-profile fail in the past couple of years and as a result this sentiment pops up all the time. He just did a quality Carlito and a stellar Reeve Superman. From what I recall he also put out a really good Han Solo Ford a while back. Credit where it's due, even outside of Lee he has had more hits than misses.

All of his Bruce Lee's are very strong projects (each for their own time of course and he progressed over the years). He was the first artist who really captured Bruce in the mass-market product. YJ and his crew did this too, but later, when Arnie left Enterbay. And his only "one high-profile fail" like you said is the Indy for HT.

I misunderstood your post. First time round I read it to mean that you thought Kim was limited to just Lee :)

wouldn't it be funny if Enterbay Bill announce a 1/4 GOD BL now? lol

Since I'm not into action figures, I wouldn't care in the slightest.

Not really sure what people see in this statue that makes them think it's a lifeless/blank expression. It looks like it was taken out of a movie still or something. It's obviously supposed to be him staring down his opponent or something along those lines. Makes me wonder if people think that in a boxing match you should have a Joker smile on or a 300 yelling face.

Exactly.
No questions, Bruce had a lot of trademark screaming expressions but this statue is about this tense moment when combatants look at each other right before the clash. It's like a moment before the great storm. Absolutely love the moment they've captured here.

Agreed.

No problem man.
I misunderstood your post too. I thought that you are one of those Kim-haters gang that without any reason believes that he is a very limited artist. Well, again, mostly it happens because of this HT DX Indiana Jones confusion but I believe even this case is not Arnie's fault but HT's fault. I believe they decided to just reuse his old headsculpt which he developed years ago for old custom project rather than hire him for the 100% new headsculpt.
From my opinion he is very talented artist and one of the best in the industry. Problem is that he is not involved in too many projects.

cheers for the info..regarding the blank/neutral/inbetween takes sculpt whatever you want to call it,here's a similar sculpt from arnie from 2011/12 yet the intensity from bruce is there to see, whereas in the 1/3 sculpt he does look kinda bored if you follow, I think a statue this big needed a more intense/i'm gonna kick your *** expression.that's just my take on it.

we all have different tastes so not everyone will agree, that's what collecting is all about.

Looks weird front on though. To me anyway.

I think I prefer the sculpt being offered with this statue already.

It's a Bruce Lee collectible, varied opinions on likeness, is the norm :D

Also the smiley Bruce casual wear HT release went with the other hair style, I prefer the WOTD hair on the smiley looked real good, I think the GOD statue expression is ok but just needed the accuracy of the pics u guys just posted. With that likeness would have looked alright. I must be the only guy in the planet to like the HTS DX Indy by Arnie :D I always thought the sculpt was ok but destroyed by the PERS and poorly produce head neck attachment , gappy neck :)

opinions, opinions.opinions LOL..i'm not saying the sculpt doesn't look like bruce,it really does, but even in a calm/relaxed ''mode'' bruce always seemed to have some form of intensity,be it eyes or expression. is what i'm trying to say.if this was say $450 shipped i'd be very tempted, but WAY out of my price range, perhaps that's why i'm being overly picky ;)

I don't mind the expression. I think it works.

The face itself looks wrong for Game of Death though.
He was always ripped but he lost a lot more weight throughout his short film career and his face got progressively lean (and then even gaunt).

This looks like a kitbash where someone has grabbed a Fist of Fury sculpt, remodded the hair and brought one of the many custom GoD tracksuit/sneaker sets from ebay.

Its not awful by any means, its still definitely Bruce....just feels out of place to me. Arnie Kim is amazing and his sculpts have always reflected Bruce's specific look for the time period/movie in question.

This time I don't think it does really ...and that's a little disappointing for a $600 price point and the biggest ever statue.

Have you guys seen this ad? Pretty neat.
[ame]https://youtu.be/BHpDJFnwX_U[/ame]

shannon ..should just be ashamed to sell the image of the father so with impunity ..
Our beloved bruce would never do this and especially for this type of products ...
shannon ashamed ...:monkey2:gah:

The product being advertised is questionable, but the work that went into making the ad is amazing.

The expression really should be changed. I can't tell if he looks bored or depressed, but it's a little of both and neither do the statue any service. Like someone else touched on, the expression we see here isn't suitable for Game of Death. The rest of the piece looks spot on though.

It's beginning to bug me as well.

I mean, I like the expression the first time I saw it, but I'm no longer sure this is what I would want as my only piece to represent Bruce. In other words, when I think of Bruce Lee, his expressions are hardly anything but neutral. That is not the look of a dragon.
